Okay I know I ragged on the Jungle Breakfast experience but Singapore Zoo definitely made up for it, with its Fragile Forest enclosure because...wait for it...
I SAW A SLOTH!!!
I SAW A SLOTH!!!
OMG!!!
I'm talking super up close, free roaming, pat worthy (we were good and resisted!). We visited the Fragile Forest three times, it's basically a huge enclosure you walk in and the animals inside our free to roam. On our first visit we spotted a sloth but he/she was hanging up super high in a tree. On our second visit Ben spotted him hanging out at the observatory deck and we bolted over to the spot! We had an uninterrupted sloth experience for a good five minutes before others rocked up and surprisingly weren't interested in the sloth but the flying foxes hanging close by. I was looking at Ben thinking...people!...don't you realise you are a metre away from a sloth!! Flying foxes are cool though, it's just...come on a sloth! Lol
There were also other insanely cute animals in the Fragile Forest such as mousedeers and lemurs (which Ben and I sneakily pat). The quote of the day went to a Mum with her kids who told them "don't pat him because I didn't bring any sanitizer today"! Lol. Anyway I'll be quiet and post the pics, it was amazing that's all you need to know, oh and I saw a SLOTH!!! Weeeeee!
Our cheeky lemur friend!
Sloth!!!! OMG!!
Super friendly (and gigantic might I add) pigeon. He was actually the first to greet us when we walked in
Pretty butterflies!
Don't look to closely over on your right :P
Ridiculous cute mousedeers, who were pretty timid but every so often we would see one sneak out from the bushes and onto the path!
Ahh my sloth friend who was all curled up and when she poked her head out and looked over at us I pretty much lost it!
Okay the flying foxes are darn cute too!
The end :)
woweee! great photos! that sloth is so darn sweet! and those two little bats! so cuuuute!

ReplyDeletewow!!! amazing pictures! which lens did you use? I'm maybe too excited, but ohmy a sloth!! their faces and their cute claws are incredible. I had never heard of a mousedeer before (I am now really shamed about it) but has become a favorite as well, love they shy approach. And yeah I got too close to the bat pic, hahahha
ReplyDeleteThese are such amazing pictures!
ReplyDeleteDamaris, I know at the zoo I had my 135mm lens (my longest) on a lot of the time, but for the fragile forest like the sloth shot I was using my 50mm because he was so close anyway. :)
ReplyDeleteLoulou...thanks!!
Ok I'm about to explode with the cuteness - sloth!! And lemurs!!! and what the - mouse deer??? They are insanely adorable!
ReplyDeleteCalm down Heather lol.

I know it was literally the best part of the zoo! Know I just need to hug a baby sloth and see a sloth walk and I can cross sloth adventures off my bucket list :P he he

ReplyDeleteI know!! I think I first saw one at Ueno Zoo and I totally claimed it as my new favourite animal too!
