One thing I loved about Malacca was the ornate tiles outside the buildings along Jonker and the nearby streets :) After our night at Z hotel we got up at 7am so we could spend our last few hours wondering the streets, of course everything was shut but it was a good chance to grab some photos especially of all the tiles :)
nice. I have a similar collection from George Town :)
ReplyDeletemy friend Emaya went to George Town and I remember being in awe at her tile shots! I guess part of the heritage listing reason :)
ReplyDeleteI need to visit Malacca right way! :D
ReplyDeleteThese are super nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nathaniel :)
ReplyDeleteand yup Katie, put it down on your visit wishlist!
This post is a dream come true. SOOO many beautiful patterns. So much beauty. I am a fan of vintage tiles/mosaics as well, back in Cuba you can find some beautiful ones ♥
ReplyDeleteAhh I might have to add Cuba to my travelling list now!
ReplyDeleteTiles is one of my favorite things in the world :D
ReplyDeleteMe too :) I definitely have visions of renovating a bathroom and putting in all mismatched, vintage and home made tiles!
ReplyDeleteSwooning over the beautiful patterns of this tiles. Since we moved to our current apartment I have been daydreaming about renovating the kitchen to put some cute tiles! These are so inspiring ( now I will need to save up a lot, haha)
ReplyDeleteTiles definitely add a magical element, it would be lovely to see your end result :)
ReplyDeletethe tiles are so pretty, I wouldn't mind having something like this on my driveway...it would look amazing and a little silly amongst all the plain old boring concrete in my suburb
ReplyDeletehow awesome would that be, I also dream of having amazing tiles like this in my future bathroom!
