The little Alchemist - Review

I was so lucky to win two awesome products from The Little Alchemist via the blog Under Lock and key (really sweet blog btw!) I thought it would be nice to trial the products for a few months before writing a little review of them. Let me first start by saying I'm a product-less lady, actually I rarely even wear make up but since winning these two products I've begun to think a lot more about looking after my skin, which I think has been a great turn around for me. The two products I won were the Anti aging Defense complex (I'm too young for that!) and the ultra c radiance serum. Both are made in Australia using organic and natural ingredients which gets the big tick from me!

The defense complex I use after my shower in the morning, it's a lovely mosturiser that smells like the big red cinnamon gum (have you tried that before) anyway I want to consume my face after putting it on :p. The serum (which is oil based) I use maybe three times a week just before bed. I was a little worried at first at putting more oil on face, at the ripe old age of 29 I still get break outs but then I remembered reading about how breakouts might be caused by your face over compensating for lack of oils. Ya dee da dee anyway after a good few months I have definitely noticed way less break outs, so there might be something in this oil myth :) it's also feels really nice to treat your face before bed and after a shower.  I think they are super lovely products, appreciated by both me and my face :)

On a side note I really want to start using more chemical free makeup, so if you guys have any good recommendations please let me know in the comments :)

  1. I started making a cleansing oil for my face with olive, grape seed and tea tree oils and my acne has all but disappeared. Definitely into the oils for face care!

  3. Mariko, who would of thought? I was definitely skeptical of adding my oil!

Okay will remember this botanical range, we have an organics store that stocks quite a range of beauty products so I'll have to check them out :)

  4. Great review, Fee. Don't know how I missed this when you first posted it

And definitely true about the oil myth. I think because oils are more similar to the natural oils our skin produces than creams and lotions? Do you mind if I send it over to the lovely people at the little alchemist? I know they'd be happy to read it.
