Petra's post reminded me how much I used to enjoy taking pictures of graveyards, so when I drove past one the other day I thought it was a nice opportunity to finish off the last frames of film I had left and to pull out the digital too :)
So beautiful, I sometimes get scared people might think I'm disrespecting the dead by visiting and taking photos but I hope, when I've passed, strangers walk past and visit me :)
What surprisingly cheery photos given the location. I don't think it's disrespectful at all.
ReplyDeleteI kind of realised putting it together, lol, I guess I can't help but be drawn to cute things :)
Deleteprepare yourself to follow me,
ReplyDeletestrong and touching words.
I know, I definitely had to stop and pause on that one
DeleteI have always loved looking at old graveyards and all the beautiful fake flowers there. beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteI feel they have their own unique (dare I say slightly tacky) aesthetic, which I really love :)
Deletei got hooked on the 'prepare yourself to follow me',like Sara... it is strong and i think it works for one to feel more alive when reading it.
ReplyDeleteSometimes i walk in and visit Cemeteries and i feel such peace and quietness...and here there is always fresh flowers and candles :)
So great to have on your plaque, I love it too, I felt in a way connected to that person without knowing anything about them, except the obvious, their name, when they died and who loved them :) Which maybe you don't need to know much more!
Deletei don't think it's disrespectful at all. you showcase beauty and remembrance.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane :)
