I've had these photo on my computer for far too long, they're of a local scarecrow festival that happened late last year. It was pretty neat to drive around looking at all the scarecrows and sculptures people had submitted - I'm posting a few of my favourites. Can't wait for more scarecrows at the end of this year.
Headless horse rider with a hat, though I suspect he wasn't intentionally headless!
I love these wire dresses, I'd seen them before on the internet but in real life they looked so awesome and ghost life :)
Loved her (or his) cute straw hat - the sunflower was a nice touch too :)
Pretty :)
Does your town do a scarecrow festival once a year? It was a pretty new concept to me that I just happened to stumble upon :)

How neat, these are so creative and artistic. I don't believe there is such thing where I live. Love the picture you showcased on Jane's blog.
ReplyDeleteAww thank-you! I'll have to go have a loook
Deletei have no clue if there is anything like this near where i am. makes me wanna find out. those wire dresses are pretty neat. think you said it right - truly ghost like.
ReplyDeleteBe a cool decoration for halloween I think :)
DeleteI'm pretty sure there is not any similar festival here (pity!) I'm really impressed on how much thought and art they put in a thing that it is supposed to be more practical than beauty. The wire dresses look incredible!
ReplyDeleteyeah, I'm not sure if they have a practical application although where it's held is very countryside! :)
Deletethere are a lot of weird/amazing things going on on that side of the world :)
ReplyDeletelol *nods in agreement* :)
DeleteThis is so frigging cool!! I never knew there was such a thing as a scarecrow festival. My favourite is the horse/pony (?) with the straw hat.
ReplyDeleteI honestly didn't either until I saw it posted somewhere - I'm wondering if they actually use them for their original purpose or not!
Deleteaw that is awesome. i've never heard of scarecrow festival but I'd love to go one day!

That scarecrow horse is amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy town has a scarecrow festival every year and last year was the first time I entered. My Dad and I made an operating theatre in the garage with two scarecrow surgeons and a scarecrow patient.
WHAT! that's crazy business - definitely had to have a sneaky look at your blog. You guys put in so much effort - you definitely should have taken out first place!
