So making the prom corsages was another labour of love project that I undertook a few days before prom. I luckily scored this huge bag of ribbon tulle from the op shop for one dollar which formed the basis of the wrist corsages. I bought a few bunches of fake flowers (from a cheap store) and then tied the flowers to the tulle strands and added in some feathers and more tulle (well basically whatever I had in my craft box). After making half a dozen I did question why on earth I started the project but as I said yesterday I think it turned out to be a nice idea.
Plus gremlin enjoyed playing in all the tulle and flowers :)
Any specific questions on how I made them please ask, I realise my description is pretty vague - I have a horrible head cold at the moment that may be preventing me from thinking clearly!
I've got a few more birthday posts left to go before we say goodbye to this prom saga - it's been fun guys.
So very pretty! Lovely images, thanks for sharing!

Thanks Poppy :)
Deletethese are fab. I never went to a prom in my life...
ReplyDeleteOur Formal (Australian version of prom) was pretty lack luster. I kind of love everything about prom (or what I know of prom from American movies) just a completely lame and over the top party - my kind of thing :)
Deletereally pretty!
ReplyDeletethanks Jasmine!
Deleteoh m gosh, fee!!! these look really amazing. i cannot believe they were done on low budget too. seriously?! seeing all your birthday pictures, it makes me want to start getting creative and making things!
ReplyDeleteThe corsages were a super cheap project, under $10 and I'd say the parties biggest expensive was balloons at around $30 maybe all up around $100 was spent which is not bad :) It's really fun to have the time to be able to do this, makes me feel ridiculously happy and lucky!
Deletethose corsages! so beautiful! i'm so impressed :)
ReplyDeleteaww thank-you :)
Deletesuch a great detail! it's the little things that really make it I think :-)

DeleteOhmy! I'm so late commenting, but I loooove this! and I hope you are much better of your cold by now!!!! big healing powers coming from Barcelona. Did you attach the flowers with hot glue? I would absolutely love to have one of our corsages they look so lovely! Lucky girls those at your party.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh I was mush too lazy to even use hot glue :P I just wrapped the tulle around the flowers to hold it in place (lots of knots) I figured they only had to last one night! Hot glue would of been super smart though!
DeleteThanks for your healing powers!! I've almost shook the cold off, just have a bit of a cough left!
