Whenever I travel one of the things I love to seek out are interesting signs, whether they are cute or peculiar or somewhere in between I love them all :)
Totally and I think that's what makes it amazing! Oh boy July was intense for everyone I know but August is meant to lighten up for us all - cosmically speaking :) So fingers crossed for that - hope August is a better month for you too!
i love that you seek this out on your travels. i don't know if i have a particular thing i look for when i'm on travel but i should. i think it's a great thing to do while being away in a new place, exploring. also, how do you organize your pictures when you get back? Do you set categories first, edit your pictures and save them in their respective folders? (daily japan updates, signs, cats, etc.) sometimes i come back with a bunch of pictures and it's hard to plan out blog posts with them and so i just end up using most of the pictures as a summary post. i've been trying to think of ways to feature photos as other blog topics and even thinking about them before i go about taking photos but i think i'm still getting used to this routine.
When I get home, I download all my cards and this time because (there was a lot!) I sorted them into day folders "japan day 1" etc. and then picked my favourite photos from each day and edited them (one day at a time). It took me so long to start blogging because this time, I had in my head to edit all my photos first so I could concentrate on blogging and also for that exact reason you mentioned above, I could then go through and pick photos that belonged in a category. I had a better overall picture of how to blog my trip after having edited all my photos. Before I left for Japan, I knew I wanted to try and find some playgrounds and street art and weird signs but then other things, I just start noticing and then it becomes a fun adventure for myself to try and take lots of photos of that thing. I hope that makes sense! I actually think this time, there may be too many blog posts - oops! But I also really love blogging about Japan and I always think you're blog should be about what makes you happy!
I hope this helps and good luck trying out a new routine :) :)
Japan always strikes me as on a different planet. would love to visit it one day. great pics :)
ReplyDeleteps: how have you been?

DeleteSome of our favourite signs were the ones in the metro showing you how not to be a jerk. Such polite reminders.
ReplyDeleteI really like the polite nature to their society, I think sometimes it's crazy but it does result in people being more respectful on a whole I feel :)
