GOMA - Patricia Piccinini

Before Ben went away for work we checked out the Patricia Piccinini exhibition at GOMA, a retrospective collection, titled Curious Affection. It definitely clashed with my specific art tastes but deep down I could appreciate the skill and thought that went into the collection.  This blog post is mostly of her work but the rest of the gallery was still full of lots of other goodies so I took some shots of my favourites :) I think it will be fairly obvious to spot which sculptural pieces (made of silicone, fiberglass and hair) are from Patricia.  You might also pick up on some themes in her practice including genetic engineering, nature & technology and nurturing (to name a few!).
