Collections - Nature

I have a wooden display box with lots of things I've collected in, so this week's collection is from there. When I say "I've" collected, the truth is that the majority of rocks have come from Ben - he works out in the desert and thus is able to stumble upon some amazing finds - well I find amazing anyway :)

I kind of wish I knew more about any of these, my room mate Karla is really into rocks and gems and crystals and has been teaching me a bit but all I really know is I think they're cool :)

My crystals and gems, some are from the gem shop and some that Ben has collected for me :)

And lastly my insects, pretty small collection but I'm always on the lookout :)

  5. So beautiful, I find something very appealing about pictures of collections that are shown in a grid. The picture of the butterfly in the bowl is amazing as well. I've never had any insect collection, so I'm very curious, do you have to keep them in a special place or with any particular preservative?

    1. Thanks Damaris! You know you probably do have to do something to preserve them but I don't, I've had some of those insects for a few years now and they seem to be staying intact. I was speaking with a family friend and he was trying to explain the lengthy process he goes to preserve his collection - I think I tuned out because there was too much! oops!
