Maleny Botanical Gardens

Okay this post is going to be long because me and botanical gardens = too many plant photos.
Let the visual feast begin!

The lovely Ben who got me loving the plants :)

They allow for pets on leads at the Maleny Botanical Gardens well officially dogs but I'm sure that can be interpreted to mean any pet on a leash :) You can also spy Ben carrying Gremlin's pet backpack - it was here we realised he could open the velcro closure :P

Despite it being Winter there was still a lot of plants and flowers (yay!) to see.  Admission to Maleny Botanical Gardens costs $16 an adult which was probably $10 to much (though it will depend on how much you love gardens).  You can also buy a ticket for $26 which includes a visit to their aviary but us cheapskates just went the botanical route :P Despite the high-ish entry cost, it was still a fun hour and I imagine if you bought a picnic you could even stretch it out to two!

    1. it was all their idea to pose with the statues!! I swear :P

I think this is the first botanical gardens I've ever had to pay entry too being a privately run garden, normally they're government run and free! I guess that's why I thought the cost was too high because there's a few other free options on the Coast which are also nice :)

    1. yeah it's crazy hey! It's privately run hence the cost but if anyone was ever visiting the sunshine coast I'd point them in the direction of the free gardens first :)

  8. I love that you brought Gremlin with you! I also just went to our local botanical garden for the first time with my brother who was visiting from the west coast. He's an arborist by trade and a plant nerd by education so it was super fun trying to stump him on all the latin names for trees.

  12. What a great place and gorgeous and fun pics (LOL at the guys laying like buddha and the multiple arms, hahhahahahaha). I bet Gremlin loved it, Juno is completely in love with plants and flowers, but she always tries to chew them which is not as cute ;) Btw, Hello Kitty vans!!!!! did you change the laces? Mine came with the regular white ones. Oh and agree with the high cost, ours are 3.5€ but I still try to visit them on free days (cheapo me)

    1. Oh I did change them my laces got super dirty! I was actually thinking of washing the whole shoe but then I got scared :P Gremlin does love plants - I hope he doesn't love eating them but he is something strange so it wouldn't surprise me. I personally think all botanical gardens should be free to wander around :)
