New Home

So I think I mentioned we moved half an hour further north, probably won't mean much to most of you but it's further away from the city (Brisbane) in a place called Verrierdale nestled between a town called Eumundi (super small hippy country town) and Noosa (the ritzy part of the Sunshine Coast). Driving to the shops is now longer but I must say I love living more rural :) The first week, we'd all stop whenever we heard a car drive past because it happens so infrequently - less than ten cars a day (to try and set the scene). Gremlin adjusted super quickly and it felt like home to me almost immediately as well. We have a six months lease so we maybe moving again soon but I really hope not! Moving sucks - did I mention that already?

Our friendly kookaburra friend :)

Setting up my knick-knacks made it feel like home :)

It's a two level house, the master bedroom + ensuite, kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry and toilet/shower are downstairs and then upstairs are three bedroom and the main bathroom/toilet. I definitely approve of the three bathroom situation!

We're on a three acre block of land, unfortunately the owners (or those beforehand) decided that clearing the bush and planting palm trees was the way to go. We have lots of bush surrounding so that makes things better. There are also 2 very small dams on the property and ducks!!

We've been trying to explore all our new local eats. Our fav recommendation so far is paperboy cafe at Tewantin, we have gone so many times that on our last visit the lovely owner gave us a fee muffin which was amazing!

Even though I whinge that the land was cleared there are still lots of trees around the house which is nice.

Upstairs and the peachy goodness colour scheme of the main bathroom. The house has a very out date feel but I think that adds to it's charm (I think!)

On my second attempt at photographing mr. kookaburra he let me get a bit closer :)

Cute moving-in flowers Ben bought for me :)

 Bathroom snaps!
Smoothies from a cafe in Eumundi

and our fire place which has been very welcomed these past few weeks with temps dropping for us here in Australia. I even successfully put together my first fire after two failed attempts and a very hurt ego. Starting fires makes me wonder how bush fires eventuate from one tiny cigarette butt (but obviously they do - so no dropping your butts kids!):P

I love that gremlin hangs out with me, on my lap, on the windowsill or under/close by my chair :)

And my room! I put my computer desk smack bang in the middle because if you know me, you know I have a lot of stuff. I've sort of built a bit of a maze but it works and I'm happy. I'm also happy that Ben graciously fits our bed in his room even though he is a semi-hoarder himself :)

Super settled and happy :)
Life update wise, I'm still following my dreams, living cheap, working hard and probably the happiest I've ever been.  I really really want to start sharing my wedding photos but it's a bit murky water with copyrights and ownership so I'll chat with Nick (the photographer I work with) about all that :). I do a wedding almost every week and I've learned so much, despite it being more full on then I had ever anticipated it's also really really fun and it feels amazing to be pursuing so much creativity in my life.

    1. I started moving everything in and realised there would be a huge wasted space in the middle - so I pulled everything back out and got my game plan on - he he :) Seems to be working out nicely!

    1. I didn't think I'd love the two level get up but now I can't imagine it not being like this :)
A bit more exercise in my day too (I think a few flight of stairs count :P) maybe!

  7. So lovely! I think the country is severely underrated. I've just moved 30 minutes out from the city and I now live on half an acre and the air is fresher here.

    1. Thank-you Damaris!!! The nice thing about the house too is it has sky lights so it definitely makes the house super light (which us photographers will never say no to!). I'm off to a wedding now - so I better go dress up smart :)

  15. Your new home looks really really lovely! Great shots of Mr Kookaburra. I used to feed them mince and they'd get so tame and eat out of my hands. Then Frankie came along....
