Biggenden Skate Park

It's sometimes a fun creative challenge to go out of your comfort zone - for me it was Biggenden's skate park and a random drain to bust out my camera :P

I took these photos on my new lens, the 85mm 1.8.   I really want the 85 prime lens (the 1.2) but it's a tad expensive, so until I save up the dosh, the 85 1.8 is a fun new toy with some super fast focus :)

    1. I was definitely impressed - seems so far, a 'good value for money' type lens but I'll have to have a bit more of a play first I think :)

    1. I always thought skate parks were a bit intimating (not this one as it's a super small town). Those bigger skate parks though are really the opposite of intimating with strangers mostly love having their photo taken whilst skating so it's easy to take photos at :)

    1. Have you got the 50mm 1.4 I'd say that is my favourite lens in the affordable bracket (although affordable may still quotation marks around it!)

  6. These are really incredible. Because I know that taking pictures of movie subjects and still capture emotion is tough, but you did just that. I really love these photos.

    1. I'm sure one day I'll get the 85 1.2 but so far it's out of my budget, I have the 35mm 1.4 which I love but to be honest I think I use my cheapo 50mm 1.4 more just because I'm not scared of smashing it :P

  9. Wow, incredible focus! Our dreamt list includes the 35mm 1.4 (not likely have to confess :P) but definitely now the 85mm moves up to the top :) Love your b&w with the skate pavement.

    1. The 35 1.4 is great and my go to lens after my 50 1.4 or if I know I want pretty photos :) So funny though I don't love my 35 much more then my 50 yet the price difference is super huge!
