Clay Mermaid

Before I met Ben, when I was living with my friend Shane I was really into clay for like two seconds (happens frequently with potential hobbies of mine). Shane owned a potters wheel and even though I quickly found that wasn't my forte, I really enjoyed making little clay animals. Fast forward five years and it's now Ben who is 100% into clay and has been for the last few years, even recently making the hefty investment of buying himself a kiln.  It was only natural my interests would pick up again with this investment :p

Hopefully, maybe, my clay mermaid is the start of things to come or perhaps just another fading hobby from a very long list :p

    1. I wish I could blame that, I'm meant to be a stubborn set in my ways taurus (which I am) but I'm also fickle :P

  4. Very cute. I was really into clay as a kid. We had an amazing arts center not far from our home and I used to take all kinds of pottery classes there. Somehow, between all of the classes I took, I always seemed to miss wheel day and still can't use one to this day.

    1. Ah how fun, I was that kid that got way too excited whenever some extracurricular art activity was on! I think you need down right skill for the wheel - it was a little too precise for me and not creative and random enough :P

    1. I tend to, without thinking too much draw eyes like that :) She can definitely be an asian Mermaid though!

  8. Gorgeous mermaid! Love her delicate pose :) Waiting for your next clay creation! I also don't commit a lot with any craft, I used to think that when the one for me arrived I'd know, but now I only feel that I'm just average crafter and should try them all no matter how bad I am, hahahhaha :)
