So this was a fun/different month because I have a new polaroid and new film - Woohoo!! Whilst thrifting I came across another polaroid for cheap with a built in flash, something I have secretly been craving. Although my other camera has flash potential it required disposable bulbs (annoying!) Whilst this new camera is simply powered by the film itself :) Okay that was my justification for buying yet another Polaroid + doesn't it look cool :p
Now it wasn't all roses this month - I still had one photo left in my other camera. I read online you can do a switcheroo but something must of gone wrong when I tried because I got this lovely shot...
Oops! I ordered more film online, I actually ordered some black & white film and a pack of coloured film with the skins border. There are 8 photos per pack and each photo has a different skin frame. It's fun because I have no idea which photo is going to pop out next! I kind of like the random pairing of the snake skin with Gremlin :) I'm also going to say the impossible film does not get accurate colours and definitely has a blue tinge (yup, something to be aware of!).
I've got my black and white film sitting in the fridge but I'm wondering if I should load up my other camera with it so I can swap between colour and black & white for the remainder of the year? My only fear is then I'll have two packs loaded and sitting in cameras for months with the potential for both films to go bad and then I'll have to properly cry :p Any advice polaroid experts???
This post is part of the Polaroid Challenge 2015, you can see my past photos here and read more about getting involved here by the lovely peeps at The Cat you and Us
it is a fun pairing. great shot :)
ReplyDeleteyay thanks Petra!
DeleteI have no idea about Polaroid! I got one very cheap and using a few film it didnt go well! I have been put off ever since because of its prices!

The price is definitely the worst part or maybe the unpredictable nature, no wait, how about those two things combined!
DeleteGah, Polaroid photography looks like so much fun. Of course, there is always room for error, but I think that almost makes it more fun (and worthwhile) when you get a darn great shot. I wish I had a Polaroid!
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree!!!
Deletelove the snake scales with the picture of gremlin! so impressed that you can actually get a shot of him without it being super blurry!
ReplyDeletethe flash is definitely my new best friend for fixing blur problems :) :) Hurah! I want to send you an awesome package too, but at the moment it's kind of average so I'm going to try and do some more op shopping and build up a good Emily loot :)
Deletewhat a cool find
ReplyDeletelucky!!
DeleteSounds like fun. I have an old polaroid camera stashed somewhere in my family's home but have no idea where it is and actually even though the last photo was not an intended result, I think the image of the polaroid came out really well as an artistic photo.

It's kind of nice the blank polaroid huh? Or maybe it's that pink background :) :) You'll have to dig through some boxes and load in some film!!
DeleteLove how you come across these finds while thrifting!
ReplyDeleteI'm really fortunate with how many cameras are floating around at the thrift stores where I live, my problem is not buying too many because there is only so many cameras you can actually use!
Deletesuch a gorgeous camera, I need to find me one :) those skin films look awesome too, and fun! great photo of Gremlin xx
ReplyDeleteand I need an instax!! Well okay I definitely don't need one :P But cameras are fun :)
DeleteGreat shot of Gremlin. Erm...the blank one turned out pretty nice too? Lol
ReplyDeleteit may not make it to my album :P
DeleteGremlin <3 <3 <3
ReplyDelete:) :) :) He's a good kitty!
DeleteOh, I wish I could give you some awesome advise but I've actually never owned a polaroid myself :( I should get in the band wagon huh? But even though that last photo didn't come out I love how you photographed it against the pink background. I think it looks awesome. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt looks sweet against the pink huh! I feel like I'm never going to stop learning with polaroids even though they are one of the simplest cameras :P
