Pink dip dye hair

The other day I got sick of my hair and decided to give myself a chop and add some colour. I really love my blonde and am not ready to give it up just yet but I thought adding pink to the ends would be a fun change

Definitely the longest my hair has been in a long (ha ha!) while. Despite the blonde transformation helping my super fine hair, I still think my hair looks better on the shorter size. Also this was the first time, I'd cut my blonde hair so it was super weird to see that blonde (not brown!) mess in my hands.

I actually did the pink twice, the first time I mixed Fudge's "pretty flamingo" with conditioner to about a 1:4 ratio. This made the ends a very pastel pink and although pretty was slightly boring, so I thought "ahh heck lets go full bright". I was still kind of a chicken so I mixed the dye with equal parts to conditioner and got the results posted here. I'm now a week in and the pink has dramatically faded to a pastel (I wash my hair a lot) so when I re-do the dye again I'm just going to skip the conditioner part and see if the colour will last a little longer.

Application was super easy and probably took about ten minutes. I wore an old shirt, gloves and used a hair dye brush to apply the pink colour. I tried to make it fairly even but wasn't too concerned with perfection (the back may look hideous for all I know :p) I left the pink in for about 30 minutes, rinsed it off and viola!

The nice thing about doing just the tips is that I can pop my hair up in a bun for those classy weddings and still look semi professional :)

    1. I've always been a bit skeptical my hair could ever look cute but I'm glad I went the blonde route and now I'm extra glad to have added the pink :) :) My hair finally makes me happy!

    1. The pastel, although cute, really should be left to the entire hair - for me it was just way to subtle for the ends!

  7. that hair length and style and pink look so good on you! I love the longer bits at the front of your bob too. I've been contemplating a shorter bob for a while but my hair has just reached a long phase again and I'm not willing to give it up quite yet haha.

    1. Aww thank-you! I think you have to get in before the long phase before the attachment becomes too much! Your hair is so pretty too, I'd find it super hard to do any chopping!

  9. Your hair looks amazing! I am so in love with it and I think the shorter hair looks incredible on you. Also really impressed with the fact that you cut it yourself. I do my fringe but would never trust myself on the rest of my hair.

    1. I think short hair is where I should stay! If your confident with cutting your fringe you can definitely do the rest! I started with just doing my fringe too and never thought I'd be able to do the rest but if you're going for a more choppy (aka uneven :P) look then it's super easy!
