Peaches and Fee

I thought I'd give a Peaches update! So for a few weeks over Christmas we got to semi adopt her (unintentionally) while her owner was away. I'd like to report Gremlin and Peaches became best friends but that would be a big giant lie. The seem to tolerate each other and have cute play fights that unfortunately seem to turn into the non-play variety.   As far as I can tell, they're like a brother and sister who on one hand, can't stand each other but on the other want to hang out as well.

I will say I've learnt a lot more about Gremlin since Peaches has shown up. Ben and I pinned Gremlin down to an English Gentlemen. When Peaches disturbs Gremlin's sleep by jumping on him or tries to take his food he just looks back at us like, "what the jolly hell is happening here?" :P :P He is very confused by her and also a wiener so he doesn't quite know how to react. Honestly though it just makes me love him even more and I've been trying my best to shower him in mad love during all the Peaches visits!

  1. lol -- i think I know that look. Sometimes when Piri wakes up he'll see all these guest dogs (he lost his hearing so sometimes he doesn't know when they have arrived because he is napping) and his look is very much like "what the jolly hell is happening here" :)

  2. You can definitely learn a lot about a cat by introducing them to another cat. Sadly, Kala's presence has made Gatsby a bit more curmudgeonly than when we first got him, but I do like that they actually snuggle some times.

    1. Aww Gatsby! I'd say Gremlin isn't close behind on that front but perhaps inevitable even if there wasn't another cat around :P I will say, just yesterday the two of them sat close enough that their tails touched and I did an out loud gasp! Unfortunately it only lasted a second but pretty amazing to think just a few months ago they were hissing at each other :P They have definitely come a long way! I'm still holding out for the day they snuggle!!

  3. Hehe cats have such expressive looks sometimes. I remember Red having the best disdain face when he wasn't happy, he even did this little snort of disgust and stalk off lol. Misty was just sweetness all the time :) I'm glad Gremlin and Peaches can at least live peacefully near each other, that's definitely progress! :) pats to both of them xx

    1. They are so funny, I love just sitting outside and watching their dynamics - live tv! he he he . They've both definitely made so much progress, well more Gremlin but still, it's nice to have a more harmonious house hold of late :)

  4. I'm such a late commenter, sorry! We sometimes chat about how Juno would interact with another kitty, being the stubborn diva she is but at the same time a big coward I bet she would look from afar with lots of disdain ;) love that you have half adopted the cutie Peaches!

    1. I must admit we were pretty sure they'd never be totally okay with each other and although not besties they have come along way in such a short amount of time - so everyone that told me that was 100% spot on :) Gremlin is only 2 but he seemed so set in his ways already - so I'd say if you were ever thinking of a second kitty there is some hope!!!
