Ballandean - NSW roadtrip

So I'm back from Japan, it was amazing and I took A LOT of photos (many a blog post to come!) but whilst I'm busy sorting and editing I thought I'd share some photos I ran out of time to blog before I left.

Sometime in Feb, I joined Emaya and her sister, Charlie on a road trip to New South Wales to visit Charlie's friends, Maple, Ben and there little dude Felix. It was one super sweet (and very aussie) weekend in Ballandean where I got to do my first ever wine tasting.   Maple and Ben run cabins on their 1700 acre property (we stayed in the pepperina cottage) special shout out to all the cute frogs hiding in our bathroom (a fav animal of mine!).  Maple also has a soft spot for donkeys and after seeing how friendly donkeys are, I now have a crazy desire to have a donkey friend or two before I die #lifegoals

Next time I'm back with some very un-aussie photos!

  1. Those donkeys look so chill and sweet. And froggies in your bathroom! I'm actually kinda jealous, don't seem many frogs out this way, especially not inside.

    1. I think there were about 10 frogs in total when we came in at night, I took those two little sneaky guys I saw in the morning still hiding under the toilet seat :P I think frogs are so magical to me because I don't see a whole lot either!

  2. Welcome back Fee!! Love how the pictures exhale fun times! :) the picture of everyone in the porch looks straight out of a film oh! and the donkeys, how super cute are them! Do you know that there is actually one type of donkeys called Catalan (the region we live in) donkey? :) sadly they are in extinction and to vindicate them became the image of Catalonia, they created lots of logos and campaigns around it. I won't start yet to rant about how excited I'm for your Japan pictures and stories so I don't look too pushy ;), super super looking forward!

  3. Welcome back!! I'm glad you had a lovely time in Japan and looking forward seeing the pictures! Beautiful photographs as per usual :), and you all look like that you had so much fun - all the smiles and exploring. Donkeys and frogs! I do get excited when I see animals, they are just fascinating! I remember going to Majorca and saw a lizard in the bathroom naturally I got real excited and told everybody but they didn't seem to share my enthusiasm..!

    1. Thanks Katrina! Aww I would of got excited about the lizard, I love lizards too! Although I can sympathise with people somewhat, because if somebody told me to come see a big hairy spider I might not be so enthusiastic on that one! I'm trying to get better with spiders but baby steps for me!

    2. Me too, I hate spiders! Always made my boyfriend to pick it up and put it outside!

  6. What an amazing stay! It does look very rural (ie. "Aussie") and I love it. I think I might have to make a trip there someday. Alexander would love to meet the donkeys and frogs! By the way your photography is simply stunning, I always thought it was great but now it's just AMAZING!

  7. I love these photos. SO much so, that this is actually the second time that I have settled by my laptop just to look at them. I can hear the laughter echoing through your evening here and I can smell the sun setting on the dry grass. Perfect
