Japan Road Trip: Nabana No Sato

Ever since I saw light tunnels pop up on Pinterest I knew I needed to investigate further :) Apparently LED light parks, or illumination sites are a thing and apparently Nabano no Sato, the one we visited in Mie is one of the best :) Normally the site is home to a flower park but come winter time it's transformed with over 8 million LED lights! After our last few days of stressful snow adventures, Ben and I had so much fun here. Entry was 2100 yen (though that does include a 500 yen food voucher) so depending on your holiday budget you may want to pass but for us, we happily spent a good two hours, oohing and ahhing over all the pretty lights. For a split second I thought I was in Disneyland :) The catchphrase for the night was "date night" because there were so many couples!!! it was definitely cuteness all around :)

For the 2015-2016 winter they had a Heidi of the alps section! I believe the theme changes ever year :)

DATE NIGHT!

That night our Michi no Eki was close by in Kuwana. It was also probably one of the worst Michi no ekis we stayed in with lots of car hoons driving by. We definitely judged the area off of that but since we were only there a night, I'm sure they place had many redeeming features we just didn't notice in the dark :)

  1. This looks so charming and lovely. In Montreal in the fall the botanical garden has a Chinese lantern festival in the Chinese garden part of the park and everything all around is lit up with fairy lights.

    1. I'm a sucker for fairy lights, I bought a big string of them but shamefully haven't gotten around to putting them, this post should kick me in the butt to do it!
