Some fun thrift store gems to share today :)
First up a cute butterfly badge for my collection. I also think this will look cute on my slightly boring (aka professional) wedding get ups!
A Belinda's balloon mug, I already have this exact same mug from my family but it's packed away somewhere, so now I have two! Belinda's Balloon was a fav children's book of mine when I was little :)
This super happy garlic container! A fun fact about me, I love garlic - I think I've mentioned this before but if a recipe calls for one clove I was always put in at least five! actually I pretty much put garlic in every meal I make :)
I also found this paper recycling kit at the same op shop I found my flower press and oddly enough I had both in my younger years. I like to think they both came from the same home :)
One of my favourite things in the kit were these paper recycling stickers (although all have lost their stickiness!)
This is one of those things that I have the best intentions of doing (making my own paper) but I wonder if I'll make the time to do it :p
oh yay I always love seeing your oppy purchases! That garlic holder is too cute. I found that same paper kit ages ago and used it once before deciding it was way too much effort and re-donated it haha. Mine didn't come with the cute stickers though, must have already been used :-(
ReplyDeleteEmily don't tell me that! lol but I kind of predicted it, knowing myself. Actually I remember as a kid thinking "I have to rip up old paper to make new paper?" I just didn't understand the concept of recycled paper making - lol lol
DeleteThat butterfly brooches is lovely and very wedding appropriate ;) I used to have a paper making kit when I was younger, but I only ever used it a handful of time since it was hard to produce a lot of paper at once and the paper I did manage to produce what usually too lumpy or too thin to actually be useful. Oh well, hopefully you'll have better luck that I did.
ReplyDeleteI too remember some paper fails, maybe it needs the keen hand of an intelligent adult :P I remember making my paper and then not knowing what to do with it because it was too crazy!!
DeleteI made my own paper for a science project in grade school & everything I used for the project was taken from the trash or recycling bin (aside from the backboard which we had to purchase & use...). I got an A!
ReplyDeletewoohoo! no kit needed :)
Deletesweet. it's great. I get my fix of stuff through you. it's always so much fun to look at all your new possessions :)
ReplyDeleteIf I acknowledge it's a tad unhealthy does it make it alright :P
DeleteThe butterfly brooch is beyond pretty, love it! Is it weird that I didn't know about those recycling paper kits to make at home? How do they work? From a distance it looks as it must have lots of steps :)
ReplyDeleteFrom memory (haven't read the instructions yet!) you gather heaps of old bits of paper then wet them (maybe blend them?) and put this blobby mess down on the wire wrack to let it dry out :) I didn't have 100% success as a kid to be honest - definitely will make sure I read the instructions!
DeleteI remember making paper in grade school art :D
ReplyDeleteI hope you had success with your attempts :)
DeleteLOVE that garlic container! I add garlic in every dish too :-)
ReplyDeleteKatrina Sophia
it's so good! The bad thing is, I don't taste it too much anymore hence why I have to add so much into my dishes resulting in a garlic-smelling kitchen all the time (lucky I have nice room mates)
Deletegreat finds :)
ReplyDeleteI love thrift shopping!

ReplyDeleteme too me too! i love garlic and put in more than required! :)
