As we add more plants into our garden, I decided it would be a fun project to create flower arrangements. The arrangements are ikebana inspired with the aim of making them simple and only using what's currently in my garden. The idea being that restraint (hopefully!) inspires creativity :) At the bottom of the post, are quick write-ups/backgrounds of each flower :)
WHATS CURRENTLY BLOOMING IN MY GARDEN
// Kangaroo Paw "backyard blitz": A beautiful red/orange/burgundy variety that was gifted to us after we found out we were pregnant. It blooms ferociously!
// Pink Gebera: Vibrant pink variety that lives in the garden next to the kangaroo paw (A gift from my Mum after my miscarriage). That area of the garden is now a lovely little shrine.
// Wisteria: This plant was already well established when we moved in and grows along our fenceline. It only blooms once a year (at the end of winter) and when it does, it puts on a spectacular show. The petals have the most lovely scent and cascading shades of purple.
// White Dendrobium Orchid: This is the orchid that Ben and I saved from my Grandma's land (set to be bulldozed). The flower spike is insanely huge. I've included a close-up to show all the tiny flowers that make up the spike - so cute!
