Birthday Haul 2017

Oops, only a month late to show off my awesome gifts!!!

First up from my lovely cousin, rainbow fairy lights, a pretzel purse and shoe wings - which I have another photo to show in a second!

My cousin and her family also got me this amazing mermaid tail throw - so so good, I've been using it at night whilst watching tellie :)

The wings in action and an awesome cat space themed shirt from my middle bro which he got in Japan - making it even more special!

My oldest bro gave me this awesome book on dreams. The book is essentially a dictionary where you look up key words from your dreams - I have it right beside my bed to make sure I get those first waking insights :)

Ben's mum gifted me with these super cute owl earrings and anyone recognise the card? I really enjoyed learning about Margaret Keane and her story in Big Eyes :)

And lucky last an awesome haul from Ben which includes rainbow gloves, a sailor moon choker, stickers, a pin and a Shaun Tan book!

Shaun Tan is an Australian artist Ben and I both adore and this book is all his clay work which is so inspiring to both of us!

And my pin and cute succulent stickers Ben found - etsy was definitely his friend :) he he!
Big love for all of it!

My Birthday Haul

Despite this being many months later, I still wanted to share my awesome birthday goodies I received back late April :)

First up from my lovely cousin, a cute bunny tote (which I've been using a lot!) and a super cute little suitcase that now houses my embroidery supplies :)

Ben's mum got me these super cute cat earrings on the left.  I'm not sure if you can see but the front of the cat sits in front of your ear and it connects behind with his swinging tail, so it looks as though they are jumping through your ears! And how about that super cute cactus from my little bro - eep!

Ben got me an amazing assortment of zines/badges/stickers and that super cute ying yang cat patch which I'm still working out the best place for it to live.

My Mum got me all of the above Amazing goodies. The red suitcase now houses my dymo label maker + tapes and we've been using the cat tray for Gremlin's food (just need one for Pnow!).

And close up of the super cute tin and brooch!

I think I won around 30 dollars on those scratchies from my bro Matty and my littlest bro, J always makes me incredible handmade card *love*

More goodies from my lovely cousin, Heather and her family, so much to love - how great is that Frida notebook! (have you seen the recent movie btw? definitely worthy of a watch!)

The cutest cards!

And two African violets from my dad :)

My Birthday Haul + Escape Room

My birthday has come and gone and now I get to (excitedly!) share my Birthday Haul with you guys. I'm super lucky to have such thoughtful people in my life and excited to be 31 and for all the adventures this birthday year might bring :)

It was fun to see the prominently pink birthday card haul and some happy kittens :) Also J's card bottom right was so sweet and listed on the back all the good reasons to be 31 :)

Mum got me this awesome vintage cat card, which I love everything about.

Mum also got me a vintage cat tin and brooch, cat socks (which make a sneaky round 2 appearance) and cute cat erasers!

I also have to show you the vintage wrapping paper my Mum used, isn't it the best!

I also got some super funny shirts, it took me a few seconds to get the shirt on the right but pretty obvious once you get it.  It's funny because growing up I was obsessed with guinea pigs (RIP cupcake and pixie!) and now I've gone cat crazy (with still a huge love for dogs too!)

My big bro draws these heart people called Hearties and he remembered my love of bo peep lollies!! + way too generous with cash gifting.

I got this amazing Fluro pink dressing gown from Shane and Lynsey, if you know me, you know I looove pink and I looove being warm!! If you follow me on Instagram you may of seen me wearing it as well :)

Ben's mum sent me some cute paper and a cute little glittery tin

My cousin, heather and her family went above and beyond with their gift. So funny that two people bought me the same awesome socks - love it! I also got an awesome voucher to use up which I've already written up my Wishlist for :)

Last year, Isla (Shane's niece) gave me the cutest bottle cap necklace and this year she presented me with the sweetest loom bracelet, hand wrapped in printer paper :)

And lucky last Ben's card, he loaded me up with cash so after much deliberation aka, should I get an instax or not?!?!? I think I'll save it as my Melbourne spending money with my trip less than a week away now, weeeee!!

I should also mention Dad shouted us all to lunch and to play at Escape Hunt.  Do you guys have these puzzle type rooms where you live?  It's a relatively new concept for me but right up my nerdy alley - I not so secretly love solving things.  Unfortunately I left booking a little late so there was only the difficult room left but we managed to finish all the puzzles and disarm the "bomb" :) The place was super sweet and did give us a few clues and an extra three minutes at the end!

You may not know but I have this problem of being super competitive in board games and the such.  Before going into our Puzzle room I was so nervous and even the night before I was having nightmares of people not taking it as seriously as me - lol (I can laugh at my only weirdness luckily).  When we got in we had no idea what we were meant to be doing but we soon worked it out and picked up the pace but I can honestly say I've never had an hour disappear so quickly!

Despite me probably taking the thing way too seriously it was so fun and definitely up my alley, not only did you have to solve puzzles but there was even parts where you had to physically find things - okay I realise I'm sounding way too nerdy here :P Anyway, it was a super fun Birthday and I'm appreciative of all the love I got :)

My Birthday haul

Gosh I got showered with gifts this year, I like seeing what other people get for their birthdays and I like showing off too, so without further ado, my goodies....

This was a present from my Mum, I didn't previously know about fortune teller fish but turns out they're awesome!  Essentially it's a plastic fish that you put on you palm and how it reacts tells your fortune.

When I put the fish in my palm it's head moved (jealousy) but then it flipped over so I'm guess I'm not really jealous :p When Ben tried he got moving head and tail - so I guess he's in love :)

My friend's Dan and Jess got me an awesome package from Daiso (Japanese store) so much Japanese candies!

My friend Kylie got me a scratchie which I just found out I won $12 bucks on - woohoo. I'm going to buy another one with my winnings and save the half left over. Do you guys buy more scratchies or run away with the winnings?

The rest of the Daiso loot. I feel I'm going to be warm this winter. I'm one of those people who feels the cold and with the temperatures dropping of late, I'm grateful for extra ways to rug up :)

My cousin Heather and Dan's present was so nicely packaged! It came with the above card (3d cat card - woohoo!) and also lots of parcel wrapped in the same cat themed wrapping paper all inside a pink barbie box. Heather always goes above and beyond with presentation 10/10 for sure :)

And inside all those beautiful wrapped parcels were the sweetest gifts, a bunny jumper and frilly socks, oh my goodness - cuteness to the max!

and bunny lights!!!

plsu a whole bunch of cute stationery, if you read my cat blog, you'll know I'm a sucker for those choo choo cats

My family not only loaded me up with money (thank-you family!) but I also got a sweet bundle of gifts, the cat toys were the best idea ever. After hours and hours of play they're no longer looking so pretty but I take that as a lovely sign that Gremlin approved!

I couldn't get a good photo of this card but it is the best shade of pink and super glittery (my big bro knows me too well)

I think I mentioned Emaya gave me a ridiculous thoughtful gift, not only an amazing tea towel by able and game (cool Aussie illustrators) but she got me a plane ticket to go visit her in Melbourne. Her thoughtfulness is so crazy, I mean she flew up for my birthday and then had the thought to fly me down as well! Yikes so amazing :)

This necklace above I got a few weeks before my birthday from my friend's Niece. We all went to the movies together and whilst waiting in line for popcorn she thrust a plastic bag towards me. She's maybe 6 so it was hard to work out why I was getting a plastic bag but we narrowed it down to having a present inside for me. She then told me it was a necklace and I kind of got a little way too excited! As we sat down in the cinema I unwrapped the tapped covered paper to discover a toy sized wheelie bin inside. Not quite the necklace I was expecting but then I realised I needed to look inside :P

Definitely something I would/will totally wear too. I asked if she wanted her wheelie bin back and we both left happy with the exchange :) Still not sure why I got such an awesome necklace but I'm going to guess she has amazing intuition and knew my birthday was around the corner :p

Our awesome artist friend Phil gave me one of his art pack, choked full of goodness. I still have to blog about our outing together but to be honest haven't even looked at those photo yet apart form pulling out all the flower photos for Floral Friday :)

Ben's mum got me a cute kimono card, don't you love getting cards in the mail?
And Ben got me the most outrageous/awesome gift ever...

A tiger bag!!! He got it from a country fair he visited whilst out at work. The bag itself has some stories attached like cheering up a girl who tried to commit suicide, so I like to think of it as a lucky omen, I just have to work out where I can wear it. It's not the most practical of bags, because the content part is just at the back and they haven't really utilied the head for storage but even if I just hang it up for display it will look amazing in my room :)

So yup another super lucky year for me :)

*ROARRR*

Birthday Presents

I don't know how exciting this is to anyone but myself but it's a bit of a tradition of mine to take photos of all my presents :) Enjoy!

Cute wooden ornaments from my Mum :)

Very sweet 'burntfeather' :p tea towel from Emaya and an awesomely rad bunny shirt from Heather

Bracelets and you can't see too well but that cup on the left has a cute black cat on it and greetings from Nambour. It also has an Irish-sequence poem inside so we guessed their must be a Nambour in the UK somewhere, after a two minute google search I could only find Australia's Nambour (my home town). Does someone know if there is a Nambour anywhere else but Queensland? It got me all curious!
J made me that card on the left it had a coupon inside for 24 unlimited access of table tennis and video games and another coupon for a million dollars...yes please :)

And an excess of cuteness from the Glynns!!!

Thank-you so much to everyone who sent me birthday love one way or another it made me smile :)
Thanks for reading my blog to!
