Lomo 100 Colour Film in my OM1

I finally got some film developed - woohoo! I popped some 100 lomography colour film into my Olympus film camera (my OM-1).  My local film lab processed it normally and then I scanned it at home using my digital camera (you can read about that set up here).

I'm still deep in the World of making wooden stands.  At the moment it's where 80% of my time is being spent on and I couldn't be happier.  The best place to follow me with my Spirit You project is definitely on my instagram page and I'll make sure to follow you back!

We live near some really amazing nature and I'm proud of how much adventuring we have done this first half of the year!

sunshine coast mountain climbing

Another thing (I'm not sure I have shared yet) is that almost every weekend, I've been climbing a mountain with the family.  I'm not the most fit person in the World so it's often pushed me far outside my comfort zone but it's been amazing for my health.  We don't have scales in our home but I have been getting lots of nice feedback from people that I've lost weight which has been a pleasant side effect.  A big drive for me has been looking at the issue from a long term perspective.  There's lots of health problems in my family and I'd love to be healthy and active in my 40's, 50s, 60s and beyond - wouldn't that be amazing :)

I've also been able to maintain (proudly for almost a year now!) a daily 30 minute walk.  Even though I'm never super stoked on exercise, both the walking and climbing have been do-able for me.  People often talk about the endorphins they get from exercise, which is not something I personally experience.  The thing that has helped me commit was to incorporate something that I do enjoy alongside the exercise.  With my morning walk I listen to a podcast and with the climbing, I really love nature so that has been a big draw card! I do so much sitting on the computer during a day that it's been so positive to incorporate (even just a little bit) of physical exercise into my day :)

Although this was a colour roll of film, I thought the photo of Lowy's dog, Shanti on the log, looked super cute in black and white!

Film Camera a Month - October

film camera blogging challenge
We need to jump a few months back in time so I can play blog catch up! In between flying down to Melbourne for a wedding and moving (even if it was just underneath the house!) has meant this poor little blog has been neglected. Never fear though, I'm here to rectify all wrongs doings, starting with my film camera a month series :)

I'm pushing my underwater camera back into the October slot despite still using it into November - ssssh! When I got the film developed not only did it make me feel uninspired to put another roll in but I realised that roll has been in my camera for at least a year - oops!

aim and shoot camera
The camera in question is an underwater film camera called 'Aim & Shoot' which has an outside plastic housing enabling it to be used multiple times unlike the disposable variety.

To be honest that's its only selling point :p

aim and shoot underwater camera
Otherwise it's a very basic point and shoot set up where the only thing you can control is what film you put in it. This time I had put in some Lomo 800 colour film knowing a higher speed would account for lower light conditions under water.

There is a counter on top so you know what shot you are up to, a winder for the film (and also to unwind the film at the end) and a film release button on the bottom. I think my shots below sum up the basic nature of this guy.

I think underwater shots should perhaps be left to the professional guys :P

Film Camera a Month - May

For May I chose to use my Canon 1000f film camera.
As I mentioned before, I was really looking forward to using a more reliable film camera for this month.

For my film I decided to use slide x-pro 200 by lomography. I then decided to go a step further and have it developed in normal colour settings aka having it cross processed. I also did my normal trick of over exposing in camera by two stops which honestly was this month's biggest downfall. If I use this slide film again, I will just shoot at normal exposure as a lot of the shots from this roll were way too washed out to even share :( In saying that I'm still super excited to share my favourites, which I do really love!!

The reds ended up being super bright which I think is so pretty :)
You may also recognise this shot from my insta :P

Don't think I explained the focus to Ben :P

Can you spy the corn! My bro visited and we opened one and I'd say it was 70% ready but he still gave it two thumbs up for taste wise :)
