Lomo 100 Colour Film in my OM1

I finally got some film developed - woohoo! I popped some 100 lomography colour film into my Olympus film camera (my OM-1).  My local film lab processed it normally and then I scanned it at home using my digital camera (you can read about that set up here).

I'm still deep in the World of making wooden stands.  At the moment it's where 80% of my time is being spent on and I couldn't be happier.  The best place to follow me with my Spirit You project is definitely on my instagram page and I'll make sure to follow you back!

 We live near some really amazing nature and I'm proud of how much adventuring we have done this first half of the year!

Another thing (I'm not sure I have shared yet) is that almost every weekend, I've been climbing a mountain with the family.  I'm not the most fit person in the World so it's often pushed me far outside my comfort zone but it's been amazing for my health.  We don't have scales in our home but I have been getting lots of nice feedback from people that I've lost weight which has been a pleasant side effect.  A big drive for me has been looking at the issue from a long term perspective.  There's lots of health problems in my family and I'd love to be healthy and active in my 40's, 50s, 60s and beyond - wouldn't that be amazing :) 

I've also been able to maintain (proudly for almost a year now!) a daily 30 minute walk.  Even though I'm never super stoked on exercise, both the walking and climbing have been do-able for me.  People often talk about the endorphins they get from exercise, which is not something I personally experience.  The thing that has helped me commit was to incorporate something that I do enjoy alongside the exercise.  With my morning walk I listen to a podcast and with the climbing, I really love nature so that has been a big draw card! I do so much sitting on the computer during a day that it's been so positive to incorporate (even just a little bit) of physical exercise into my day :)

Although this was a colour roll of film, I thought the photo of Lowy's dog, Shanti on the log, looked super cute in black and white! 

 More mountains!

 We have these mountains on the Sunshine Coast called the Glass House mountains which have definitely whipped my butt these last six months

1000f with portra 160 - The Ekka

So tragically no film camera a month for August, my Pentax 6x7 just wouldn't work for me *sad face* On an extra sad note, it seems tragedy is striking again this month - I'm currently up to my 14th failed polaroid - total blanks! I may have to abort and choose another film camera as a back up - ahhh the nature of film! 

Last month, my family invited me to the annual show exhibition, The Ekka, so I bought along my reliable 1000f canon camera loaded with some Portra 160. As per normal, I rated the ISO in camera at 100 and had it processed normally to make it a bit brighter and softer :) 

There were a few photos already on the film too :) Enjoy!

We were in the showbag pavilion and J asked if he could wander a few stalls up, next minute he comes back with this trump mask, extremely odd and that's why I love my little bro! Plus he always indulges me when I want to take his photo :)

I had no idea Great Danes could be spotty like Dalmatians!

It was a fun challenge to only use film in a photographic place, I also challenged myself to spend no money (apart from the entry fee and a little present for Ben) so all in all a win win!

Film Camera a Month - March

I actually thought I wouldn't have a roll for this month. Oddly I've been super social (odd for an introvert like myself) but hardly took any photos *gulp*. Thank goodness for Emaya visiting and us ending up at a super photogenic netball court for some skateboarding practice.

This month I was using my plastic fantastic, Holga 120n. It's a camera that takes 120 film, so embarrassingly I only had to fill up 12 frames but still found that super hard to do! I also had a silly moment where I thought I had loaded the camera with black and white film and found myself holding back from taking photos because I thought they wouldn't translate well to b&w. To make things seems even sillier, I had actually written on a label (stuck to the back of the camera) what roll of film was inside *face palm*. It's actually such a good tip, because the Holga 120 doesn't have a little peep hole to remind you what film is currently in use. Next time I will try and remember to actually read my super helpful note :p

So the camera was actually loaded with some Kodak Ektar 100 (colour!) and my aim for the roll was just to go crazy - I did half winds and double exposures and just click click click! I think perhaps I went a little crazy because how I scan my film is really only set up to do a frame at a time, so I did have to go into photoshop and splice some frames together. I do also dig the randomness though and I think it's one of the joys of Holga. I was actually sad there weren't super light leaks in this roll which I guess I was half expecting but, yup lesson learnt, don't expect anything from a plastic camera :p Onwards to the photos!

I think this month I really missed having a "reliable" film camera. I see myself in the future using my Holga when I go somewhere specific and want really random experimental shots. I think there is definitely a time and place for the Holga :) Oh and I totally wish I would of done at least one shot using a flash too *second face palm*

Tomorrow, I'm going to show you another roll I took with the Holga120n back in 2016 and, it's black and white and fun and I'm sad it's taken this long to share it! Stay tuned!

Canon 1000f - Lomography 100 /02

I'm back with some more film that's not part of my monthly series but leftover from last year. I've shot a roll of Lomo 100 in my canon film camera (1000f) before with happy results you can see here and I was just as happy this time round :)

These shots are from our last Fraser Island trip which you can read more about over here too.

Tomorrow I'm going to throw up a few extra photos from the roll that I thought warranted being converted to black and white :)
