Devils Kitchen - Noosa National Park

A few weeks back we went exploring Noosa national park, I've been a handful of times but after each trip I wonder why I don't go more often - it's pretty silly to live somewhere so beautiful and not milk it or maybe only seeing it occasionally keeps the magic alive :)

By the way in that photo above Lowie's explaining a "movie" moment he saw where a family was scattering ashes and the ashes just blew back in their face - oops. Anyway back to the scenery!

Above is Alexandria Bay and is famous for being a nudist beach here in Australia :)

We saw turtles - can you spot him, he's just a pale-ish rectangle blob!

The rocky landscape on the left is Devils Kitchen - Karla is looking into the what we call the spooky cave, I jumped into that water once and I ended up stuck at the back of the cave crying, not sure if I had the courage to swim back out - I'm not the best swimmer and it was a such a scary moment for myself - feeling I was going to end up smashed against the rocks.  I also lost my camera - lucky it was only a point and shoot, I do remember being sad that I lost all my photos I took on that trip - it was my first valentines with Ben and we camped on those pebbles above :)

We even got our own little private ocean spa this time :)

Sun setting = end of our adventure :)

  2. How crazy beautiful! I'm thinking how scary it must have been to be stuck at the back of the cave and having to swim back. I'd most certainly cry too as I'm not at all a strong swimmer.

    1. I was telling Daz and Ben before I jumped in that I wasn't a great swimmer but I don't think they realised just how bad a swimmer I really was :P Ben was at the back of the cave and afterwards he told me he was thinking he'd have to call the rescue services because I was in such a panic! lol I just breathed a lot and trusted that the two boys would help me get back out and here I am :)

  5. wow. it's really really beautiful here. and i always love your pictures. and we also live near a place called billy goat trail and it has some of the prettiest trails. we've been twice but don't know why we don't go more often. we dream of going to far off places when some of the most beautiful places are near us :) and the movie moment totally reminded me of something that happened to my friend. she went with one of her friends whose cat died and she wanted to scatter the ashes. and while her friend was crying and telling her cat (ashes) to be free she didn't realize that the ashes were blowing right back into my friend's face who was standing behind her.

    1. Thanks Jane, yup so true, dreaming of far off places and having magical places close by! Grass is always greener huh? Another sad yet slightly funny ashes story, I would definitely be picturing the ashes beautifully drifting and scattering over the ocean so I can sympathise with these people!!

  8. It's amazingly beautiful, it looks to me like an unexplored land full of adventures, specially the spooky cave :) How cute is your sticks' tepee (yay for a picture of you inside as well!) and the natural spa.
