Twin Lakes Caravan Park

Isn't twin lakes caravan park the best name?
It sounds like it should feature in a seedy c-grade movie.

When I got word on the twin lakes being abandoned I wrote it down on my to-do-list for Ben and I to explore when he returned from work.  When we finally managed to visit, it was already being torn down except for some of the animal statues out front :( I must point out that despite asking/convincing/pleading if we could perhaps put one of the animals in the car, I was met back with solid reasoning about the logics of doing so :p Something about them being really heavy or something or other!

I still think we should of tried because when I was back in Gympie a few weeks later, there were no animals left :(

Utter tragedy!

These photos were all taken using my Canon 1000F and 800 lomo film for those playing along at home

    1. A photoshoot would have been awesome - models in safari suits! I don't think I even got a photo with me, we were pretty quick because there were tractors going past and I suddenly got a bit self conscious - happens to me quite a bit when taking photos :P

    1. I'm so gutted I didn't get the chance to peer inside the park before it was demolished but then sometimes the imagined view is way cooler than reality :P

    1. I follow a page on facebook where a lady visits abandoned spots but I always wonder how she finds them all, I guess you've got to keep your eyes open - it's hard though if the odds are against you in your area, or in the country. City abandoned spots are cool though too - probably harder to get into though!!

  6. The torned animals look very creepy (specially the rhino) but in an awesome way! And that sign of the hotel looks really promising, I would love to see you in front of it, but I totally get what do you reply about getting self conscious :)

    1. I never usually think to say to Ben either - 'Hey take my photo' lol I'll try and get in the habit because sometimes it is a little sad having not much record of me in my photo albums. I've got the opposite problem to the selfies one (although I really don't mind people taking selfies at all and I often wonder why people make fun of those who do!)
