Christmas Card Bloopers

As promised some of the out-takes from our recent Christmas Card Photo Sesh :)

When we put up our tree I deliberately put non-breakable ornaments on because this was our first cat/tree combo year! Much to plan, when the tree went up Gremlin went straight for it but I remembered Jackson Galaxy's advice about re-direction. We have a cat scratcher close by and it was as easy as re-directing Gremlin to the scratcher and away from the tree. I have to say apart from these photos (a little too close to resist the sparkle) he has never once gone for the tree again! So all those episodes of watching My Cat From Hell payed off - Jackson galaxy is the bomb, if you ever have any cat behavioural problems I suggest hunting down his advice first :) As Jackson says, telling your cat 'no' will most likely just lead to long term resentment!

  1. After reading your little bit about the re-directing of the Christmas tree, I think I'm going to have to watch 'My Cat From Hell' and switch fur-baby for human-baby. I am having the same problem! All ornaments are at the top of the tree.

I love your bloopers. Gremlin looks so over it.

    1. lol lol, Christmas isn't over yet so he could still pull the whole tree down but I want to believe Jackson Galaxy has it sorted this time :) Good luck with your tree!

  2. ha! we need to use that re-direction tactic at home with my toddler! cats and toddlers seem to have quite a bit in common because the 'no' word definitely leads to resentment with my son too!

p.s. any of these pictures would've made a great holiday card - you guys are so cute in every one. ;)

    1. Need to find an equivalent amazing toddler thing but I'm not sure much would top a tree with sparkly things on it, that mysteriously only appears once a year! Maybe they need to invent a wooden tree structure with spaces to hang there (soft) toys from?!? lol - am I crazy?

    1. I can totally understand their desire, I mean it's a tree and it has sparkly things on it and also they're not meant to be one it :P

  6. LOL!!!! I can relate ;) I think the worse thing you can do with Juno is making her stay against her will. Redirection wih a scratcher! That's an awesome advice, our friends' cat Ranma has been destroying each single day their Xmas tree, I think they could totally use it! :) Can't still get over of how amazing your pink tree is! :)

    1. If only we could trick them into thinking it's not against there will at all :P Props to Gremlin and Juno for humouring us even for a few seconds I say!
