Melbourne: Day 8

Day 8 we ventured out of Melbourne with Emaya, her friend Speck and Wally the dog!!! Wally is the best and we sneakily got to babysit him again so he'll make another appearance later on. For now though, lots and lots of cute photos of pine forests and mushrooms.

As instructed from Emaya we were on the hunt for Slippery Jacks and Pine Mushrooms, I'm told we may of come a bit late in the season because the area had already been scavenged. We did still find enough to make a yummy dinner later that night - and when I say "we" I mean Emaya and Speck. Despite thinking this was my thing, turns out I was actually pretty bad at spotting those two varieties so instead found myself taking pictures of other potentially poisonous mushrooms.

Emaya was responsible for finding the first Pine Mushroom. These won against the Slippery Jacks in preference of eating but both mushrooms were pretty mild with flavour and nice to use in dishes to soak up other flavours :)

I felt like I was shooting for some autumn clothing catalogue with Emaya's amazing themed outfit. She's like a paper doll with an outfit for every occasion - even mushroom picking :)

Wally Dog nicely blending in with his surrounds :)

How cool is Emaya's mushroom knife which she graciously lent me, sadly though I didn't put to good use :p

I'm going to guess this guy is poisonous but so pretty!

The quintessential mushroom!

We ended up stopping in at Red Beard, a famous bakery in Trentham, for lunch. My scribbled notes say my sandwich got an 8/10 so it must have been good :)

I hope you guys aren't sick of my Melbourne blogging yet, cause we're only half way!!

    1. How cute is Emaya's outfit and also I soon realised Jelly's and socks wasn't the smartest in the damp forest but everything was too pretty to notice my cold toes :P
