I'll admit I love a good tribute band, made all the better for knowing very little about the original artist (sorry Queen fans out there!). Not one to hide away from being lame but, yup, I did pretend I was actually watching a Queen concert - impossible I know, for obvious reasons but not bad for 25 dollars :)
Apart from an incident with a roadie almost "taking me out" (with equipment) at the end of the show, Ben's words, not mine (I was oblivious to the happenings) it was a ridiculously fun night :) I was also impressed that I knew 80% of the songs, even though I was worried I might only know a couple!
If you ever want a cheap/lame/fun date idea, I'd wholeheartedly suggest, hitting up a tribute band :)
:) sounds like a fun night! i also love your night time pictures. i was just admiring jane's over at deluminators from her night out!
ReplyDeleteThey'd run out of tickets but we still scrapped in, just had to stand at the back, I was tempted to go up close for better photos but I chickened out :P
DeleteLooks like such fun! I saw a Beatles tribute band in college - weirdly enough the janitor of the high school of my bf at the time was in the band - super random! I actually do not know that much of queen's music either.

From my experience, the tribute bands always seem to be great at entertaining and haming it up! I like that the janitor lead a double life at night and I bet you would be like me and have known most of the songs, for sure :)
DeleteOne of my favourite Vegas memories is of seeing 'Purple Reign' a Prince tribute for $25 while Prince was playing further up the strip for $300. Tribute bands are great.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! And they come without too much ego too :)
