I'm backkk!

I'm not usually one to say something for blog absences but this one was truly a mighty long gap between drinks, so I better explain myself. The main reason (which is honestly super boring) is that we moved and we didn't have internet set up. I was on a strict 100mb a day - which I found only let me read emails and a few of my fav blogs - I missed blogging! In the meanwhile I've been stock piling photos so even though they are a billion years old I'm still going to share them :p Be prepared!

Today's post is all the 'Goodbye King Street' photos! Our old house had been a hive for so many hobos and creative folk. I was one of the last residents so a lot of the coolness was lost on me but it was still a memorable year living there and sad to say goodbye. The last ever party was crazy I knew like two people and then I freaked out and ran and hid in my room. Turns out not a good hiding place as past king street renters wanted to get all nostalgic and check out the house, so I became part of the tour - actually I learned a lot about who had lived in my room and what shenanigans went on. It's hard to be an introvert sometimes :p

We have now moved about half an hour away, further north and more rural, phone reception is horrid but we have a nice three acre block, tank water, kookaburras, wallabies, a very 80s above ground pool, a fire place and dirt roads that make for dirty cars :p I'll share more of my new place later on in the week - for now, it's goodbye king st photo time!

I hope this isn't just a fun reminisce for me but it may well be (again you've been warned!)

Our front yard complete with a broken swing, a pecan nut tree and very scary jumping ants!

Spray paint and my room all packed up!

I made sure to get some photos of Ben's sticker window which all came down in the clean :(

Ben having fun with spray paint and an old mattresses for the party.

I went around the house at the end to document all the little things that I might want to remember such as this painted toilet :p You never know when I might want to remember that guys face!

The full sticker window in all it's glory.

On one of the many dump runs the boys came back with a piano, bit of a tradition to burn a piano at their parties which kind of makes me a bit sad - poor piano!

Goodbye front door!

The trash pile that kept growing bigger and bigger over the weeks.

The bananas have since ripened which then lowie ended up dehydrating.  Oh my gosh, I am a fan of bananas but I'm a huge fan of the dehydrated variety all the sweet flavor and none of the strange texture.  They also shrivel up so I'm pretty sure I ate 10 bananas in one day unknowingly - I then had to google if I was going to die (turns out I'm going to live it was just a lot of fibre :P)

And sooo much cleaning - Ben and Lowy did the most of it - super respect to those responsible boys. On a side note I really hate moving.

Goodbye room with your beautiful windows!

The end - I'm coming back tomorrow to share a Gremlin update :) I swear no more abandoning you guys!

  3. Yay! You're back! That's a really bright new to cheer up this rainy gloomy day (horrible rain storm today) we are having in Barcelona :) Love that you have shared pictures of your former home, so we can see a little bit more about your favorite spots that I'm sure will be missed during the first days. When we moved to our current home, although it was quite similar to our previous one (only larger) I even cried for the first days to Dani telling him I wasn't sure I was able to settle in, hahaha, now it seems so crazy! Your new home sounds awesome, I mean kookaburras, wallabies (I googled it :S I'm so bad at not-mediterranean animals...ohmy) & a pool! :) Excited that you will share all your in-between adventures, it feels so nice to catch up! :)

    1. :) :) Normally when I move I get super sad and feel like the new house is not so welcoming maybe because it's lacking memories. This new house I really felt at home right straight away so that was nice :)

I'm glad you got over your new house blues yourself - funny to think if you move again then you'll go through the missing all over. We're funny creatures - thanks for your sweet comment!

    1. luckily! That was the first thing I requested "pleasssse let me have the bedroom with the best light" lol lol (probably to the annoyance of my roomates)

This place has not as many windows but my bedroom has one big window so I can still take pretty pictures of seaglass :) Very important requirement! lol

  8. Welcome back. The tales of your former bohemian home remind me of the first place I lived after I moved out of my parents' house. I shared the space with 5 awesome people who became some of my bestest friends and we all got matching tattoos of the house years later.

    1. ahh that's cute. One of my room mate, Daz had a tattoo gun and there was talk of everyone getting a crown tattoo is honour of king's st! Since I sort of piked on the party I'm not sure what went down but I guess people would of told me if there was some fresh ink around :)
