Presents /2

More fun presents have been coming my way!

Ben found those two white cockatoo feathers in our backyard, they're very pretty birds and very noisey! He also got me a cute zine and a vegan cookbook. I think I'm going to blog about my food adventures it's been an interesting journey :)

My friend Emaya is in Tanzania at the moment and sent me a postcard! She also got to do selfies with roadside giraffes which is pretty much my ultimate dream!

When you recieve Zadie from the previous participant you also got sent a special token and then you make a little token for the next person who receives her, which I think is just the sweetest idea :)

And finally, after Ben's Mum saw my feather collection, she sent me some cute feathers from her own chickens in the mail!

Beach + Seaglass Roundup /4

Time to share some more beach treasures with you :) I think I whinged before about the vanishing amounts of seaglass in my area over the last 6 months or so, well I'm glad to report that period seems to have passed and the last few times have been especially awesome.

Although these guys above, aren't beach related I thought I'd throw them into this post; some feathers, gum nuts, rocks and snake skin from around our place.

My collections are growing pretty big now :) I also learned a new word this week, Knolling - I'll leave you with a link to wiki, to fill in the blanks.

Feather Collection

Another thing I collect are feathers, I found a cute spoon collectors shelf to house them all in but when I went to photograph them for this series a lot had been eaten by moths (even though I had a moth bait in the shelf!) Do any of you collect feathers and do you have a good way to stop them deteriorating? By the way I only think they were moth damaged because I remember Mum saying my little's brother's collection suffered that fate!

I seemed to also have acquire a lot of peacock feathers so they get there own photo.

The colours of feathers is one reason I love them so much!

And below is a red-tailed black cockatoo feather that Karla gave me for my birthday.  I think he may too of suffered from the moth disease but as Karla said it looks like he's been in some wicked fight!

All my feathers I've found on the ground or others have found for me. Ben working out in the desert is a big help and Karla my old room mate is always gifting them to me too.  The big red and blue macaw feathers were from my Grandma's friend's house, her son being a bird breeder :)
