Snail Mail /9

This parcel was a super lovely surprise and completely shocked me with its crazy contents - big super thanks to Thimble Cat aka Emily :)

You had me at yellow (tissue paper!)

Oh my goodness, pulling everything out was one part exciting, one part overwhelming - is this all for me??? eep!

And the confetti everywhere, just killed me :) (in a good way of course!)

LOOK!!! He he he

I have to say the most special thing was this Big Things planter. I'm pretty obsessed with big things - I have my own blog and facebook page where I document them, so seeing this planter made me so so happy! I only found out that Emily is making other amazing ceramics, with her company Pot Luck Ceramics - eep, isn't that the cutest name - go check them out on insta!

She even stamped my name on the bottom - dies!

On one side is the big pineapple and on the other is the big banana! Such a treasured gift for me!

The mail didn't stop there - check out all these amazing vintage paper goodies

Can you see the photo of those two little girls - I've always wanted a vintage photo but I've never ever seen them whilst thrifting, so I feel very lucky to own one now - their facial expressions are perfect!

Everything was so beautiful - some awesome lettering too!

And holy moly a big pineapple postcard! That's going straight to the pool room (aussie film gag!)

The cutest vintage Christmas deer, pom poms and super cute erasers!

Some perfect Australiana too - gasp!!

And oh my goodness a totoro photo frame - how incredible is that?!!

And ending with this extra wonderful strawberry pom pom Emily made. I've always been fascinated at those fruit Pom Pom tutorials on Pinterest and now I have my very own :) :)

Yup, told you it was a beyond amazing parcel!
Thank-you so much Emily

Emily blogs at thimble cat but you guys should definitely follow her pot luck ceramics on instagram

Snail Mail /8

I recently got some mail which reminded me, I hadn't shown you an awesome letter I got from the lovely blogger - Blue Eyed Night Owl!

Isn't that one of life's most exciting things - seeing a beautifully decorated package in your mailbox *squeal*

Laura was so so thoughtful and it was such a surprise for her mail to be filled with so many goodies

That little four leaf clover is a bookmark!!!
Eep so cute!

Thank-you soooo much Laura, I promise I'm working on a return letter as we speak :) :)

Snail mail /6

Back in 2014 (wow so long ago :p) I got a delightful and unexpected letter from the lovely Sarah. We definitely have lots of things in common, sharing a love of the cute and colourful (neon/pastel/glitter) and all things cats!!!

It was such a delightful letter to receive complete with my own Nara postcard.

And a visual delight to open with all the little butterflies falling theatrically over my lap!

You should definitely check out Sarah's blog, she is one of the cutest Canadians around and her blog represent her awesome taste and cute spirit :)

Snail mail /4

Today's mail comes from the lovely Sara who blogs her amazing film photos over at,

Travelling all the way from Portugal the letter was filled with super amazing paper goodies.

After having Australia Post disappearred the first letter she sent  (I have a long standing anguish for our postal service!). I feel super appreciative she stuck it out and sent me another - thanks Sara!

Pineapple! I think the universe is telling me to focus on pineapples :)

In preparing a return letter, I've definitely become more aware of paper goods and the prettiness they hold.

Getting this letter makes me feel fortunate for crossing paths with some lovely peeps in the blogging universe :)

Snail Mail /3

I'm always so lucky with the magical parcels I find in my mailbox.

The one I'm posting today is from the lovely duo who blog over at The cat you and us
(who I'm sure, you know I love so much!).

It was honestly filled to the brim with the most amazing things!

Stickers and postcards and temporary tattoos!!!

And the two most amazing prints, Dani and Damaris are super awesome photographers and I always admire their photos the take. The black and white one even included one of all my all time favourite quotes "trust your struggle" which I've proudly got hanging on my wall as a lovely reminder :)

Eep!

I honestly still get giddy seeing all the goodies

Even the envelope was amazingly decorated (love Gemma Correll and her illustrations)

Another magical thing were these matchstick flowers

I've since started growing one

It was looking super promising with a cute little green sprout but before I could take an update photo and show off how well my little dude was growing his health took a tragic turn for the worst. I'm not sure what happened but I think perhaps he got too much sun one day? I've been meaning to start over but I'm so scared and not knowing why he died makes it even worse.

Anyone have any experience growing sweet alyssum? I had him on my window sill which receives quite a bit of light and I was giving him a good squirt of my water bottle everyday and keeping him moist.I'm going to go with over exposure to sun and make sure the next one is a little back from the window sill - it's not fun to kill things...wish me luck!

Tomorrow I've got more mail to show off as I'm posting a lovely letter I got from my pal Sara!

Snail Mail /1

Ben came into my room (when he was still here) and said I have good news and bads news which do you want first? I also ask for the bad news first, I'm one of those people, I also used to always eat my meat first off my plate leaving my favourites to savour at the end - gravy and noodles :) Anyway, the bad news wasn't so bad he forgot to post some mail but the good news was definitely good as he handed me this super amazingly decorated letter, I of course had to take a quick photo of it before opening it :p

when I finally (and carefully!) peeled back the colourful washi tape I was grinning from ear to ear looking at all the amazing goodies inside.

The letter was from Emily who runs a super sweet blog called Thimble where she posts her amazing op shop finds, her cute letters and sweet diys!

Inside my letter was a hello kitty keychain, oh my gosh my key chain collection is growing out of control (must share with you guys!), kawaii stickers and post its, cute cards and possibly the greatest thing of all...
A vintage Haw Par Villa postcard she found at the op shop, I still can't believe she found it and I still can't get over how sweet she remembered I visited!! Seriously an amazing find :)

I myself have been the most horrible letter writer with about six letters sitting in my stationery box that I still need to write! (biggest apologies to my beautiful cousin Heather - I definitely let down our letter writing team!)

After getting thimble's letter I realised how awesome it is to get mail, especially one where such thought and love has gone into it. I've already found a couple of cute things to send Emily back but I'm going to need a few more op shop hunts to make sure I'm sending back an awesome letter in return :)
Thanks Ben for the good news and a huge thank-you Emily for the amazing letter!!
