Kick Starter - 100 spirit pendants

I found out about the make 100 via here, it's essentially a Kickstarter campaign with the added bonus to inspire creatives to make 100 things. I'm completely new to Kickstarter, so I figured this might be a worthy start to throw myself into :) I was wondering what I could make 100 of and a logical idea seemed to be - 100 clay pendants.

You can see my campaign and all the details over here

Feel free to pass it onto anyone you think might be interested :)

Wooden Docking Station

So I've been going through our house and seeing what areas could look better - the home beautification project :) I noticed an ugly power board with cords everywhere in our bedroom and decided I could build a wooden docking station!

I also built a little stand for Ben's light too!

I roughly sketched out an idea with the knowledge our docking station would need to house my tablet, two phones and possibly some camera battery chargers. You can see above the pieces to make the box with the little triangles to let the cords come out freely!

Nailing together the box was a little tricky but my 90 degree clamps made the job much easier!
I also used some wood glue to make all the joins sturdier on completion

Ta-daaaa! box complete!

I cut out my panels for the top of the box - the bigger panel at the back to support my iPad and the smaller ones for our phones :) It was only when I started to attach these pieces to the box I had a *face palm* moment realising I could of had the back of the box simply extend up higher thus not needing the biggest panel you see above. That last sentence may be utterly confusing but if you give something similar a go make sure you 100% think through the plans first - maybe even make a paper mock up version first.

Despite that little boo-boo I'm still super happy with how it turned out and it has definitely made our bedroom much prettier :)

Love Zine + Giveaway (entry closed)

So over the past few months I've been collating old poems, letters and cards that Ben and I have been writing to each other since 2010. The idea was to put together a love zine of all the best! This process took longer than I had imagined but I'm super thrilled with the outcome. A whole lot of love has gone into making this zine be the prettiest it can be!

I thought valentines would be a lovely day to share this on the blog and bonus points as it's only a few weeks on from our seven year anniversary too :)

The zine is A5 and you can go grab yourself a copy over on my etsy store (more info there as well!).

COMPETITION TIME

I also want to give away a copy to one of you guys!
Simply comment below with your email address and next Tuesday (21/02/17)
on the blog I'll announce who the winner is!

GOODLUCK!

Snail Mail /1

Ben came into my room (when he was still here) and said I have good news and bads news which do you want first? I also ask for the bad news first, I'm one of those people, I also used to always eat my meat first off my plate leaving my favourites to savour at the end - gravy and noodles :) Anyway, the bad news wasn't so bad he forgot to post some mail but the good news was definitely good as he handed me this super amazingly decorated letter, I of course had to take a quick photo of it before opening it :p

when I finally (and carefully!) peeled back the colourful washi tape I was grinning from ear to ear looking at all the amazing goodies inside.

The letter was from Emily who runs a super sweet blog called Thimble where she posts her amazing op shop finds, her cute letters and sweet diys!

Inside my letter was a hello kitty keychain, oh my gosh my key chain collection is growing out of control (must share with you guys!), kawaii stickers and post its, cute cards and possibly the greatest thing of all...
A vintage Haw Par Villa postcard she found at the op shop, I still can't believe she found it and I still can't get over how sweet she remembered I visited!! Seriously an amazing find :)

I myself have been the most horrible letter writer with about six letters sitting in my stationery box that I still need to write! (biggest apologies to my beautiful cousin Heather - I definitely let down our letter writing team!)

After getting thimble's letter I realised how awesome it is to get mail, especially one where such thought and love has gone into it. I've already found a couple of cute things to send Emily back but I'm going to need a few more op shop hunts to make sure I'm sending back an awesome letter in return :)
Thanks Ben for the good news and a huge thank-you Emily for the amazing letter!!

Birthday Fun-ness Begins Here!

So my birthday was last Saturday but the Birthday Fun-ness started Friday when Emaya came bearing delicious tasting goods...home-made sour dough and a banana/lime/coconut cake..yummo! Unfortunately neither lasted very long but a true testament to their deliciousness :)
