Sketchbook Project 2011

A while back I signed up for the sketchbook project and a while back my sketchbook came and today I finally went about starting it (is anyone else every daunted by clean journals?).

So whats this sketchbook project all about? Well anyone can join in, you hand over some money, they send you a sketchbook, you fill it and then they.... hang on, I'll steal their words from their site...

"Each book will be given a barcode so we can easily catalog it into The Brooklyn Art Library system. Once we catalog it, artists will be able to track where on the tour their book is viewed and how many times someone pulled it from the shelf - we want to make sure you can stay connected with your sketchbook!"

So that's rad!

Anyway here is my first page, I was thinking about this ever since I heard the radio interview from a local muso, just something fun, nothing serious :P

You also have to pick a theme for your sketchbook I picked "make mine a double" with the idea of doing double page spreads for each piece :) A half lazy , half cool concept :P
I'll try and scan as I go :)
I have till mid Jan to get all my pages filled, eek!

  3. Probably the fear of wrecking such a pretty sketch book! But then you have to think, it's a sketchbook, it's okay to wreck :)
