Brisbane and Valley Adventures

We went down to Brisbane the other day, Ben had some street art mission and I had a Daiso shopping mission and Lowie has a Monsanto protest. By the way Brisbane's Daiso is amazing and if you ever have the urge to go to Japan but not the funds, just go to Daiso where everything is $2.80!

We all wore red to get our Monsanto protest on but by the time we rocked up there was only a few people hanging around a girl in an Australia flag bikini and an old man holding a sign explaining why Monsanto is bad, basically due to the giant corporation having too much control of seeds/crops and utilising some nasty chemicals in the process. Ben's street art mission was successful and I snapped a few shots around town and the valley. It's a fun place to explore when you don't live there anymore :p

  1. Wow, love the street art.
I've never been to a Daiso store. I know there's one in Sydney but I've never stepped foot in it. Judging from the images I've seen, it looks like I could camp in there everyday! It's like a mini Japan in there :D

  2. oh man you definitely need to go, it's essentially just another cheap store, but it has cuteness :)

  3. We went to Daiso on Saturday! :) I am mixed about it, on the one hand I got some super cute stuff, and took photos of some crazy funny engrish - but from what Dan tells me about the one he went to in Hong Kong, I feel we were a bit jibbed lol never happy! I just had too high expectations - see that really is the problem hey!! But yeah I'm happy its there - and if its still around when the time comes to get school supplies for Lucy, that's where I'll be heading hehe

  4. oh no!
Damn high expectations, they're problematic huh! I definitely thought they stocked exactly what would be in a Japanese Daiso, though there are some bigger Daiso's in Japan. I guess at the end of the day it's just a cheap store and you can find cute stuff in Aussie cheap store chains too, just got to dig deep :)
