Bad (but awesome!) Prom Hairstyle Inspiration

Time to showcase some awesomely bad prom hairstyles in the lead up to my prom party.  There's a few angles I could go with - having shortish hair does limit me slightly.

First up is the crazy big hair - tease central.  I can definitely do this and even though my hair might royally hate me for it, the final look would far out way any hair damage right? right?

I like these two above which are more about the big fringe, especially love how Christina's has the wave sweep going on.

Okay how about these three beauties rocking the bow/ponytail/accessory, I don't think my hair is even at the tie up stage but I do like the crazy pulled back fringe or Madonna's curls - too many options!

Talking about options let's head to the 90's early 2000's

Crimp madness! If I had a crimper I'd be all over this but I don't so let's move on!

Drew barymore = love especially 90s drew when she was all about the daisies and pale faces!

And ending on a super high note - so bad so good, the twists the butterfly clips - gold!

I'm really torn, big hair or twisty 90s.  I'm thinking with the 90s, I could go Alicia's twists, some butterfly clips and throw in some daisies or would that be too much? Maybe I need to do some hair trials in the privacy of my own bathroom :P

What would you guys go with?

  1. oh too too great! I think I still have a few of those butterfly clips stashed in my old jewellry box haha. I would probably go with one of the 80s big hair coz I'm crazy in love with 80s but the 90s ones are brilliant too!

    1. I'm thinking of going for the big hair and then maybe if that fails some 90s-ness. I've got some butterfly clips still and some fake daisies ready to go - still in the deciding phase though

  2. I say tease the top center and secure the sides and bad with butterfly clips. Best of both worlds!!

    1. Lol, awesome flash back right. I do like Madonna's tie up do with the fringe business at the front and the hair sleeked back. Maybe if my attempts at making my hair big fail I can resort to that? I'm definitely going to try and do the fringe though :)

  4. 90's hairstyles are giving me so many teenage years styling memories (not good at all let me tell you, hahahahha) although I agree with Jane that I like Madonna's with the blue headband, that is something I would actually still wear :) I think you would go great with the daisies and butterflies pins maybe making Drew's fringe bouffant? Counting the days to the Saturday! :)

    1. he he he, hey it was cool back then, it was okay :) I got a daisey headband from the shop the other day, I'm not sure if I should pick the daisies off because the headband looks to music festival-ish or even if I'll go with them. I think we can all agree the big fringe is pretty important and the rest might depend on whether or not my hair wants to play with me :P

  5. my hair is too short to do much at the moment, otherwise I'd go with the crimp :)

    1. Crimp is pretty darn amazing, I think you could crimp your short hair but maybe you'd have no reason to ever do such a thing except for a themed party :P
