Time to share some more film photos that have been sitting in my hard drive for FOR-EVER! I'm talking like two Halloweens ago or something crazy! I thought I'd put together all my show photos (ekka + aussie world) where I used my Holga135bc camera - a plastic fantastic beast which takes 35mm film. The colour photos were taken with 800 Lomography film and the black and white, also a Lomography brand - lady grey (400). I did a bunch of things like use flash, long exposures, double + triple exposures, so enjoy the madness!

Crochet Coral Reef
Continuing on with my beach week theme, I'm going to show you guys this awesome exhibition we went to called, Sunshine Coast Satellite Reef. The exhibition collated hundreds of crochet contributions from around Australia making one super clever, coral installation.
One of my favourite things was seeing how the artists used different yarns to create different textures, there was fluffy yarn, glitter yarn and even teabags - eep! Plus the colours just killed me - in the best when possible :)
Another cute feature was they had a section were you could pick up and touch items just like at a real aquarium - I'm totes all for art that lets you touch it! Now on-wards to the photos!

Could you pick the teabags?
I've got one last post to wrap up this beach themed week and it's my own artwork - woohoo!

Art not Alcohol and some city adventures
I've been visiting Brisbane far too many times in the last week but they have all been fun/worthy causes. Ben was in his first group show called Art not Alcohol and I got to meet a lot of rad artists that Ben has been telling me about. It was a blast! I also went to a cool new abandoned building early in the day but I'll save that photo overload for another blog post! I'm not sure if I've ever shared Ben's artwork but it's rad, go like his Facebook page if you have a moment :)

The Ekka 2012
How long ago was the Ekka? Too long ago! But hey better late than never :) The Ekka for those not in the Queensland loop stands for exhibition and comes along once a year, really just a big fair with rides and show bags and animals and bad food, it's the best! Ben made me go on all the haunted houses with him which I resented him for..hate being scared! Luckily he accompanies me for all the cute things I want to do, I think it works out in the end :p
