1000f with portra 160 - The Ekka

So tragically no film camera a month for August, my Pentax 6x7 just wouldn't work for me *sad face* On an extra sad note, it seems tragedy is striking again this month - I'm currently up to my 14th failed polaroid - total blanks! I may have to abort and choose another film camera as a back up - ahhh the nature of film!

Last month, my family invited me to the annual show exhibition, The Ekka, so I bought along my reliable 1000f canon camera loaded with some Portra 160. As per normal, I rated the ISO in camera at 100 and had it processed normally to make it a bit brighter and softer :)

There were a few photos already on the film too :) Enjoy!

below are quite possibly my favourite photos ever taken

We were in the showbag pavilion and J asked if he could wander a few stalls up, next minute he comes back with this trump mask, extremely odd and that's why I love my little bro! Plus he always indulges me when I want to take his photo :)

I had no idea Great Danes could be spotty like Dalmatians!

It was a fun challenge to only use film in a photographic place, I also challenged myself to spend no money (apart from the entry fee and a little present for Ben) so all in all a win win!

Holga 135bc

Time to share some more film photos that have been sitting in my hard drive for FOR-EVER! I'm talking like two Halloweens ago or something crazy! I thought I'd put together all my show photos (ekka + aussie world) where I used my Holga135bc camera - a plastic fantastic beast which takes 35mm film. The colour photos were taken with 800 Lomography film and the black and white, also a Lomography brand - lady grey (400). I did a bunch of things like use flash, long exposures, double + triple exposures, so enjoy the madness!

Ekka - Night time

This is the final blog post for my Ekka adventures. This year they changed up the night show a bit and dare I say made it, trendier! I really enjoyed it, there were flames, lasers, dancers, music and of course fireworks (that's why we got there early, right?)

It's a whole different World at night!

Ekka - Side Show Alley

Sideshow alley is my favourite part of the ekka to photograph, lots of colours, people, tacky signs and artwork :) I love it so much I'm considering getting that first photo below blown up huge and hung in my room!

These water balls looked like so much fun, I was seriously tempted to go on it, the weight limit was 80kgs but the staff seemed to struggle with anyone over the age of ten so I thought better of it :p

What's an Ekka without dolls on sticks :P

I took this shot from the mini Ferris wheel J and I went on, we actually scored free tickets (as someone pushed in front of us) but our first ride went for so long we never did go back on it :p you don't normally say that about rides but J and I seriously thought they may have forgotten about us!

No problems pushing J into the water!

Whilst we were on the Ferris wheel, Andrew got addicted to basketball

He also went on the zipper, crazy boy! Dodgem cars are my limit!

Okay I'll let the pictures do the talking now :)
