Broad city badges

So our friend lent us his badge maker (so lucky!) and the first thing that came to mind was to make myself a set of broad city badges - conveniently timed with just having watched the third season (so good!)

I loved getting to draw these super funny ladies - do you guys watch the show? I actually didn't super dig it at first but binged it with Emaya last year in Melbourne and now I can't wait till they do a fourth season :)

Do you have a fav character, I think I'm probably most like Abbi but I love Ilana's fashion and have a super sweet spot for Lincoln :)

Sailor Cat Girl

I've been all about the art recently and even though this idea took a couple of sketches I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. I am hands down a kid of the nineties and would sit watching sailor moon religiously before school each day.

I wanted to do a piece as if cat girl was getting her sailor moon inspiration on. I think in the end it's a nice and subtle tribute :)

Breaking Bad - Apology Girl Jane

With the finale come and gone I've felt the need to keep my Breaking Bad love alive so I did a quick sketch of one of my favourite characters, Jane.  It's probably no surprise she was one of my favs, I mean, cute girl, draws comics, played a love interest role, yup ticked all my boxes :)  I especially love when she did that Apology Girl Character but I'll stop with the references in case you weren't on board the Breaking Bad train and I know a lot weren't :)

Bully - Alex Libby

Has anyone seen the documentary Bully? It follows the lives of five US students all victims of bullying. I've got to be honest and say I made it through the first ten minutes of the film and couldn't stop crying. It got to me hard core, I had to go lie down and listen to happy music for a few hours afterwards, just to recover.

The next day I hoped onto google to make sure one of the kids being Bullied, Alex Libby had a happy ending. His story was the one that got to me (to be honest I didn't really get to see the others) but anyway Alex's sweet nature, made me want to reach out and hug him and be his friend. I decided to draw this cutie :)

Awww! Since the movie Alex has moved school and has since stopped being bullied :)

I'd definitely recommend the movie and perhaps one day I'll be able to get through to the ending

Australian Animals

I don't know how it got onto the topic but Grandma was talking about her Sister's daughter in law and how she was into art and it would be nice if I did her a picture. Since she lives in Denmark I decided to do a drawing that was probably a little over the top Australian :P With the floods that happened this year I thought it was a cute idea to have a bunch of aussie animals teaming together to escape them. I liked seeing those photos such as the frog hitching a ride on a snake, so this was my imaginary take :P

Molly

A recent doggie, art commission gave me the solution to the problem of
"What to get for Grandma's birthday?"
Grandma had not-so-subtly hinted at something handmade so it made sense to paint her a picture!  Molly was a much loved dog of Grandma's...

The lovely Heather assisted me in finding a photo of Molly and then I got onto drawing her

really happy with how she turned out and Grandma was thrilled, which in the end is all that matters!
