Little Mermaid

My middle brother Matty, turned 21 on Wednesday and for his Birthday I painted a picture of him and Ariel. He has a slight love obsession for the red head cutie! If I can take a moment to confess, I only just recently watched the little mermaid for the first time. G rowing up being the only girl, I wasn't exposed to a lot of overly girly movies, but now, I can thank Matty, for showing me the Little Mermaid light! :)

I actually remembered to take in between shots when doing this painting, yay!

I always like seeing others works in progress shots :)

Glitter, Kitten and boy!

I can finally show you the piece I had in the exhibition over the weekend!

weeeeee...

I follow a blog called Cute Boys with Cats and had saved this photo in my inspiration folder for a while.

This exhibition was a good excuse to finally sketch out the image onto paper :)

Thanks to Catherine and my peeps for coming along to the opening, I saw lots of cool art which makes me happy about the Brisbane art scene!

Molly

A recent doggie, art commission gave me the solution to the problem of
"What to get for Grandma's birthday?"
Grandma had not-so-subtly hinted at something handmade so it made sense to paint her a picture! Molly was a much loved dog of Grandma's...

The lovely Heather assisted me in finding a photo of Molly and then I got onto drawing her

really happy with how she turned out and Grandma was thrilled, which in the end is all that matters!

The Love is Here Book

Yay I received my copy of the, 'Love Is Here' in the mail the other day! As always it's super exciting to see my work in print!!

They're also having an exhibition in conjunction with the book, unfortunately the exhibitions are happening in Melbourne and Sydney, so I won't be able to make it but i'll post the details just in case any of you Melbourne or Sydney peeps are lurking around these woods

Featured in Mayhem Magazine

Was thrilled to be asked to be included in the latest Mayhem Magazine, a free mag that get's distributed in Queensland.

I've gotten through half of the magazine already and it's a really great read, covering art, fashion, life and music. Now if only it reached as far as Nambour so I could get my dirty hands on every edition :P

This Little Teapot

So since the opening is tonight I can finally show you my teapot!!!

Moth Princess

When I got my teapot, actually before it had even arrived, I was thinking of ideas. It wasn't until we were at Ben's Mum's place while intently starring at her chicken teapot that I noticed it looked like a face and realised that would make for one hell of a cute teapot!

Around the same time, I was playing with some moth paintings and I decided to incorporate a bit of a moth theme, since I love moths!!

I was also very fortunate to be contacted the other week for an interview which you can read here. I had a quick skim cause it still feels strange to re-read my words :P
