Mermaids are Real!

So my ocean themed week starts off with the sweetest Birthday Present from The Cat you and Us

When the package arrived, waiting for me, after my Melbourne trip I was so confused as to what I had bought and so curious to peak inside!

*GASP* so so amazing to open the present and find these goodies inside that, yup, I got a little misty eyed! I then slowly unwrapped the last little gift to find, this home made present below...

How perfect is she! I still can't believe Damaris made that for me, so perfect and thoughtful in everyway! (I'm not even sorry for saying perfect so many times :P)

There was so many cute inclusion in the package too and how about that amazing tee, it's the softest shirt I own (and if you know me, you know my wardrobe is 50% tees). I've always held mermaids close to my heart and now I literally get to via this shirt with it's super sweet embroidery. I feel super pretty wearing it and super lucky to have amazing/thoughtful/sweet people in my life :)

Ben and I went down to the beach for a little mermaid photoshoot (Spoiler alert: the tee above makes an appearance!). It was my first time doing a photoshoot so I was a bit apprehensive. It's funny because I like taking photos of others yet I'm never really in them myself as you guys probably know! BUT - I had lots of fun and Ben was a good sport to play along too :) So expect to see photos of me soon!

BIG HUGS TO DANI, DAMARIS And JUNO xoxoxoxo

More presents - happy shock!

I had a mail slip to pick up the other week which got me excited. Normally I'm pretty clued on to what I'm expecting but this time I was blanking out to what I had bought. My curiosity turned to shocked surprise when I ended up opening this amazing parcel from my lovely peeps (Damaris, Dani and Juno) who blog over at The Cat you and Us. It was beyond thoughtful and I honestly sat on my bedroom floor wiping back the tears as I went through all the little packages, so beautifully presented :)

They'd recently blogged about their adventures at the We Love Cats Market so I was tickled pink to get my very own tote! The other goodies in the parcel were so thoughtful and nobody got left out. Perhaps the happiest receiver was Gremlin who went super crazy when I showed him his snake toy from Santa Juno (Juno being Damaris and Dani's adorable cat)

Gremlin was so in love he even sampled a small bite - oops :P

Look at how sweet everything was presented!!! *squeals with delight*

(Thanks for posing gremlin!)

In the parcel was also this mega pretty bracelet from Polarite, which has become my new lucky charm and hasn't left my wrist since receiving :)

Ben was also included and now we both have the cutest Mr. Wonderful matching keychain set for our collections. Can you guess which keychain Ben picked - toast or jam?

There are a million gushing things I could say but I'll keep my ranting and gushing down and just say a HUGE thanks to Damaris, Dani and Juno.  You guys made our day, week, year!!!

Christmas Present haul

2014 was another year of receiving such an amazing bunch of awesome presents - so spoilt (I have the nicest family and boyfriend!) Today I get to share my haul, including all those presents above from my beautiful cousin heather and her family. I do this thing with blind boxes where I pick which figurine I'd love to get and which would be my worst pick and this year I got all my favs!!! Skeleton Hello Kitty and Dr. Finkelstein from Nightmare Before Christmas!! I also got a awesome Sailor Moon keychain (eep!) and some bubblegum-licious scatch and sniff stickers :)

They also got me this red riding hood themed tea set. Isn't she the cutest with her little basket that holds your tea bags!!

My family, although I'm sure Mum was behind all the awesome choosing, got me a bunch of radness including the latest Katy Perry perfume. I have the original bottle but this set came in cute roll on tubes, which are now scattered all over the joint in case I need emergency perfume (the scent is super pretty too for those wondering and the bag is glittery amazing-ness). Hello kitty appears again and this time I get to brush my teeth with her :) I also got some pastel sticks designed to work directly onto fabric and a cat book which I fear my leave me crying my eyes out #pleasehaveahappyending

I also got this super pretty and colourful beach towel and this super hero cat. Mum was a bit worried I had outgrown my plush phase but to be honest I'm still a kid at heart :) I love her, she's kick arse!

And last but not least a vintage musical Christmas bell. Mum had the same version growing up and as someone who is super sentimental I appreciate that I've got my own version now :) The box was stellar and vintagey too!

(just pull the plastic acorn to get the music happening!)

Lucky last is my stash from Ben, he got me cute figurines and the comic Topo in hopes I'll become a comic book nerd like himself :)

I also got to add to my jibibuts collection which Ben started me off on last year. I really wanted the noferin, puppy design and I got it - hurrah!

My super awesome main present from Ben was this amazing Mr Clement limited edition bunny, with a cute red scarf you can model to make it look like it's blowing in the wind (un-shockingly also the name of the design!)

His head comes off to reveal a skull underneath - such perfection and fits in with my love of all things creepy but cute :)

Unfortunately I'm a super weirdo and things made out of velvet (just to even look at) send shivers down my spine. Ben knows of my weird ways but he didn't know, flocked = super extreme velvet. So now awesome mister bunny lives in Ben's room. I'm such a bad girlfriend but I can appreciate from afar!

House warming presents

I arrived home one day to find an amazing box of goodies from my super thoughtful cousin Heather so today I'm sharing my awesome loot wth you guys - still can't believe she did that!!!

All super kawaii Japanese themed :)

It was packaged up in the sweetest bag and all the goodies inside have already been put to good use including these guys below.

The water bottle holder not only keeps my water bottle cool it stops water going onto my camera when they're all thrown together in my bag (which I have a bad habit of doing). I also used the egg timer the other day. Confession time, I cannot cook eggs! I know there was some hoo-ha when Gwyneth Paltrow released a cook book which taught you how to boil eggs but seriously my timing is always way off - so thank you egg timer for my perfectly hard boiled eggs :) That cute little green frog soap dispenser is happily living in the bathroom too!

I've started having miso every night so these bowls have been perfect I just need to cook more Japanese-esque food so I can use the two bowls at once! Lol

How cute are these lolly tins! The lollies are long gone but the tins now happily live with my knick-knacks

And last but not least the cutest hanger ever!

Thanks a billion Heather you made my day/week!

Little Mermaid

My middle brother Matty, turned 21 on Wednesday and for his Birthday I painted a picture of him and Ariel. He has a slight love obsession for the red head cutie! If I can take a moment to confess, I only just recently watched the little mermaid for the first time. G rowing up being the only girl, I wasn't exposed to a lot of overly girly movies, but now, I can thank Matty, for showing me the Little Mermaid light! :)
I actually remembered to take in between shots when doing this painting, yay!
I always like seeing others works in progress shots :)
Sketch time! Her hair was my favourite part!!

Laying down the first wash of background colour

Adding in more colour

Laying down some pen work!

Finished...ta daaa!
